Back to Chirs Olave would you make a play yess or no??
It's tough, because I really am concerned about the concussions. He's one of the very few 'ZOMG #1 WR' guys I'd consider, he's only 26, and is pretty cost-controlled for another year, so he'd presumably be part of the future. I do like him a lot as a player, but a 3rd round pick is a top-100 pick, and this team still has a lot of holes (I know no one wants to hear that on a 4-game win streak).

My eyes are pretty firmly set on 2027. and have been. If you could get him for like, a 4th, or like a mid-round pick swap or something, I'd do it.

Like, the Saints would love to move on from him, but on the other hand, they could absolutely keep him as well. It's not like a Brandon Aiyuk situation where he's all potential and locked into a big contract, Olave has produced, and I could see a role for him on the team going forward.

In a perfect world, I'd get Olave in the offseason, and ramp him up next year, because believe it or not, he'd have a tough time getting on the field, or really it's more he'd block guys like Boutte who I want to have as many snaps as possible.

The kids need reps, and it's not going to be perfect every week. While I think Olave could be a good contributor to a championship-level team (and I'd love to keep him away from Buffalo), I think it's more of a next-year move.

But if they pulled the trigger and were able to get him cheap, I wouldn't cry about it. It's not like giving up draft capital for JAGobi Meyers.

Olave and Kamara are two guys they'd definitely want to move on from if they can.

The issue is the compensation. A 3rd round pick for Olave is kind of borderline too high considering his injury history. They're waiting right now for some desperate team to give them a first, that's not going to happen (because you're not a GM).
If anything I'd say a 4th and and 6th for Olave.. ?

That's my feeling too: I think the Bills are going be very interested in him: because aside form K Shakir their WR's stink. S Diggs - an improving K Boutte and C Olave would be criminal to any Defense.

I would swap a 4th and a 6th. I'm not giving up 2 picks that could turn out to be depth for a position that's not a need. It's an upgrade, but not a need. A 6th could be a backup guard. A 4th could be a starting linebacker in 2026.

But there's a tradeoff, right? That means you're probably running back Christian Elliss or Jelani Tavai, or Hawkins or Onwenu in 2026 because you don't have the draft pick to pick someone else.

You still have to block. You still have to tackle. You still have to play defense.

Good points. What Olave would do is deepen the position and give the offense another option on the outside. He is somebody that can grow with Drake while developing Williams.. and he's still on his rookie deal correct?

He is. Next year's his 5th year option, which I think they already picked up?
He'd also be the presumptive #1 in 2027, when Diggs will be 33? 34? So that's why I don't **** on the Olave move as much as some others, although the concussions really are a big concern for me.

Thier offense looks like ours did 2023, 2024.. they put up 30 on dolphins yesterday.
Imagine we had taken Judkins or Skattebo over you know... I hope Judkins lights a fire under T Hendersons @ss this week.

Got it. Yes the concussion is always a factor. As we've seen many cases over the years.. with players retire early from them. That's why the move is a good move to me because he's someone that if healthy could be here and grow . Diggs, Boutte, Williams, olave.. that is a nice wr room.. for 2027

For what it's worth Romeo Dobbs who we scouted heavily and past Five times BB Draft. Had serious concussion issues last year and have been good this year thank goodness. So I think there might be hope for Olave.

I know twin.. his college teammate.. Henderson is a far to talented RB to not have production.. I don't know what rhe issue is...

Judkins had 84 yards on 21 carries yesterday, against that sieve of a Miami defense. Of course, the TD was like 40 yards, and that was the highlight they showed, so he was what, 2 yards a carry the rest of the game?

Henderson's only getting like 15-20 snaps a game. I know it's frustrating, and it's sort of the same deal with Williams as well. Vrabel is really slow-rolling the rookie skill players. The only ones getting any sort of run are Wilson and Woodson, who both won starting jobs in camp. (Well, and Borg and Ashby, too, technically).

Lazar makes a good point here about the two deep looks creeping in more vs. TEN compared to single high for most of the first 6 games. For most of the year we've struggled running the ball and made up for it by throwing deep so most wanted to trade for a RB. But defenses were also playing them that way. Defenses weren't respecting our ability to make plays downfield. Maye and the receivers have made them pay, so defenses adjust. It's a constant chess match of adjustments and counter adjustments in the NFL.

Where you get really, REALLY dangerous is when you have the personnel to execute both at a high level and you can just take what the defenses gives you week to week.

For the first time this season I could say Wilson had some real issues yesterday. Drake was getting hit far to much from Wilson's side.

The important thing to remember on this drive, Simmons was STILL IN THE GAME at this point.

He's been playing left guard but was drafted as a center. I wonder if maybe that's catching up to him and us? He's more of an athletic type than a mauler and probably physically profiles better as a center where it's usually more help and combination blocks than being one on one with a 3T pass rushing DT.
