Patriots need to get more out of Henderson

We've been here before.. we won playoff games and SBs with less than ideal running game production.. KC is a recent example they weren't that good of running team and recently won a championship and recently made it back to one...

Essentially IMO it's fan nitpicking... this version of the Drake maye patiots are winning inspsite of having "fixable " issues..
And we’ve won SBs with average to a below average WR room.

Pass to open the run is easy to say, but proving hard to do for us.
Maye had what, 180 yds and 3 tds in the first half…..and still our RB ran for 45 yds on 22 carries.
Pass to run sounds nice, but isn’t working for us.
We were 29th in rushing last season..

Wouldn't call Jules average... gronk average...
David Patten, David Givens, Chris Hogan, Jermaine Wiggins….etc Not exactly world beaters. Jules was great, but if he’s your #1, he would probably be what, maybe the 25th best #1 in the league?

IF we had better use of those 44 or 45 snaps Tarzan Mack Hollins is getting; we would see better results.

Titans have one of the worst run defenses in the league. The Pats run game is under the microscope this week for consistently underperforming capped by an abysmal showing in New Orleans. If there isn’t improvement this week, personnel needs to change.
Personnel needs to change? Sure, in theory. But it might not be the backs themselves. If personnel needs to change, give a solid once-over to the OL and TE's before you conclude beyond a shadow of a doubt that the RBs are the issue. Especially if NOBODY is doing well.

If one particular back is struggling, it might be an individual issue. But if all the RBs are having issues, the solution is likely going to be systemic.

Because the Patriots hold the world record for most 8+ men in the box from the D. Throw more on 1st down with success and you will watch those 8+ on 1st down turn to 4-5.
The secret at our failure as a running team is discovered! It is really hard to be effective running the ball with so many defenders close to the line of scrimmage.

Maye has made the Defense pay on late downs and on some really great plays. The answer is for Josh to take more pressure OFF Maye by passing MORE, primarily on first down.
=====
Josh is bringing Maye along slowly and wants to build up his confidence. From serious run formations, Maye needs to be encouraged to throw more on first down. We have the TE's and slot receivers who can catch those intermediate level passes.

And, sure, we can throw the occasional bomb, but it is the quick release short and intermediate passes that SHOULD make the difference.

OLs and TEs are also “personnel”.

I totally "get" Josh being hard headed about establishing the run - but it just ain't happening whether its the OL being hyper-focused on pass protection and not great on the run - or questionable decision making by the RBs themselves.

Overall I just don't think we have the big physical RB type we need on the roster. Stevenson could be adequate if he could hang on the ball.

Despite all fans probably wanting and expecting to see the run set up the pass to ease the burden and wear and tear on Maye, the offensive play calling absolutely should be "use the pass to set up the run."

It's not ideal but it's what we've currently got. And we've seen that sort of West Coast offense work well for Brady in the past too.

The good news is that Maye has stretched the field enough to protect his own health, but it sure would be nice to put games like the Saints away with a good safe clock eating running game, and we sure don't have that right now.

I do not know what is going on with Henderson but everyone should be better than Rham "the wall" Stevenson. This guy is just bad, so bad this season. He closes his eyes and goes straight to the "wall" after one yard. I know we are short now with our RBs but Rham is not a solution definitely.
What happened to Rhamondre? I know he wasn’t 100% after his great rookie year but he’s fully healthy now

I'm actually really encouraged by Bradbury's comments after the game, pissed off because they're close.

I don't see that they're close, but I'm not on the field, we'll see if he's right or just bullshitting.

Ya, whether they are close is very much up for debate.
That said, it's at least encouraging that he's taking it personally and openly admitting they need to be better.

I'm glad you got your account back.
Someone's been hacking you for a couple of weeks.
This is such a perfectly perfect reply, there are no words that can do it justice.
