AFC East Division Race (10/13 - Patriots Now on Top After Bills Loss)

Of all qualifying QBs, Maye is #4 in air yards per attempt. The dude is going downfield with it and hitting on them
I think this has to do with how people interpret underneath, intermediate, and deep passes.

For me I interpret like this:

5 yards and under is the underneath stuff. Shallow crossers, stuff in the flat, screens, and that sort of stuff.

Deep to me isn't just bombs. I see it as starting around 18 yards and further. Obviously your go routes, deep posts and flags.

And intermediate is everything in between.

Right, but it seems like it's taking a while for opposing teams to catch up.
My belief is...

A) Teams don't respect our WRs or TEs enough to kill them
B) They believe Maye will still make young QB mistakes 2-3 times a game
C) They want to shut down the run and force them into obvious throwing situations..where Maye will make the eventual mistake
D) They are scared to death of Maye running around.

It's a sound strategy but for the last 3 games A, B, and C have backfired for the opposing team.

Last time was after the Bills Wind game, and the Pats (9-4 with Mac) were also at the top of the AFC. Half of me is enjoying Run-The-Table vibes and the other half is still laughing at the thought that it was being established that Mac was the Franchise around that time.

Edit: If McD stayed, who knows what would've happened? That's the huge question. 7th in Red Zone TD% to Dead last the next year.

I thought I recalled that the questions around Mac were still there because the Pats won by having him only throw three times. That game raised more questions.

That said, it's nice to be on top again, whatever month it is.

Seems unreal. I had kind of assumed we caught the Bills in an odd moment. I expected them to win last night's game, and I expected to lose to them next time we play them this year. Now I actually begin to wonder whether we might actually be on some sort of par with them. I don't trust this feeling, though, hence the unreality.

I also feel sorry for the Bills, and for Bills fans. They are a long-suffering franchise which has had many admirable coaches and players. I can't shake the feeling they sort of deserved their moment in the sun at long last. I'm happy we beat them and that we might in time surpass them, but I wish they could have had that moment while we were ****ing around in the post-Brady/late-Bill fiasco.

I think injuries are what are allowing us to catch the Bills right now.

I sort of feel the same about wishing the fans had had their moment. But I also feel like they had five years to figure it out in Josh Allen's prime and didn't do it. They really only have themselves to blame.

And at some point, he will be a 23 yr old kid and have a 4 INT game. Just hasn’t happened yet.

Ships crossing in the night. We're on our way up and they are on their way down.

Which brings up the question where exactly did we cross? Did we meet them close to the top.

I also am not burying the Bills they were up for several years and coming back to the pack but I don't think it's over for them. They can still improve this year and even moreso in subsequent years with some good drafts and free agents. I guess I'm trying to say that they are currently coming back to the pack but the window is likely far from closed.

I totally disagree with those Rankings: a Team who lost Two in a Row @ 3 ok.

Irrationally exuberant, thank you very much. If you don't pull the bandwagon out of the garage every now and then you get tire rot and the battery dies.
Rev it up! Yes, this team has some obvious holes. But they’re growing into themselves week by week, and the AFC has seldom looked more wide open. At the very least, this is going to be FUN.

Your daily reminder that the Bills:
• Are $8M over the 2026 cap
• Have zero All-Pros on their roster outside of Allen
• Have an 800 yard slot WR as their WR1 & drafted N'Keal Harry last year
• Defense is mediocre with barely any young talent

Also, here is their last 3 draft classes:

To date, they've amounted to a receiving TE, a guard, a safety & a DT.

We've seen this story before. The bills are the 2019 pats.

Excuse me excuse me...trying to get to my seat.

Bills Window is Closing.

That 13 seconds loss to Mahomes and the Chiefs a few years back is going hurt. That should have Never happened.

They had the last 3-4 years to win a championship but couldn't quit do it, and i was rooting for them to beat KC. Their window has probably passed. i put it on the HC. Ive never been impressed by him, that team has been loaded over the years, so i look at their successe having more to do with talent not coaching

I think Allen is too good to proclaim its closed.

But they definitely did not take enough advantage of their window so far. And they are in a precarious position right now.

Fortunately for them the AFC is pretty messy right now so if they can fix some things internally and/or make a significant move they very much can still be in the hunt this year.

And even if they need a reset year in 26 Allen is still young enough to get past a reset and extend the window.

IF it wasn't for the Refs last year they won: plus they lost that 13 seconds left game to Mahomes a few moons back. Mahomes and the Ref have really bent them over no vaseline.

Yea it's definitely not closed, but there's a big spooky tree outside like in Poltergeist, and **** is getting really scary in BuffaLOL

You sure?
Nope.

I mean there are reasons they haven't taken advantage of the window and maybe he's a bigger part of the failure then we think.

But I'm also not quite ready to put that all on him. Most probably were questioning Stafford too before he got out of Detroit. Maybe that's what Allen needs too or maybe it is on him.

I'm certainly not sure but I think he's probably more like Stafford than an all out loser.
