Remember all the people on this board that were constantly beating the "you need to hire a top OC as HC! it's the only way to win a Super Bowl!" drum. Gotta love the groupthink in the NFL!

Well, that was silly. This league is littered with genius coordinators who were horrible head coaches over the decades. The two roles require different skill sets.

It is an offensive driven league and the odds are better to have an elite team with an offensive minded head coach, but there are no guarantees that any OC is going to be a good head coach. Look at Mike McDaniel down in Miami. He was a great OC, but he doesn't have the temperament or gravitas to be a head coach. Hence why none of the players respect him down there.

I watched for 30 seconds, and he compared Cam Ward to Aaron Rodgers.

Let me see, where's that post that said Drake Maye is a combination of the best elements of Aaron Rodgers, Steve Young, Brett Favre, Tom Brady, Josh Allen, et al?

I get it, he's over his skis a bit, but that's not that unusual when people finally have a decent QB prospect in the house.

FWIW he also shat all over Josh McDaniels too, so there's that.

Not sure I would call McDaniel a great OC. To be a great OC don’t you have to run the offense rather than being #2 to the HC who runs the offense?

Sometimes players come out and play a little harder for the new guy - especially if the old guy was unpopular - but usually a midseason firing is just a sign of a cluster**** of an organization. Being their next opponent, I am optimistic for our chances, especially since it is a usual 1 week rest schedule for each team. Tennessee doesn't, like, have extra time to get the new system up and running.

I thought the Jets had a very good Draft with Sauce and Wilson not too long ago: now they're still in the running for #1.

Turns out Sauce actually sucks now, and Wilson checked out mentally a couple weeks ago.
At least they both got paid, I guess.

Ever notice it's always the Jets, Cleveland and Tennessee at the top of the draft? They could have 100 first round picks and it wouldn't make a difference.

I actually like Cam Ward as a prospect, but he has some bad, bad mechanical habits that need to be corrected.
