I love the schizoid nature of this forum.

I've just read hundreds of posts filled with elation about how we found our next franchise QB, our coaches are geniuses, etc.

Now we have this thread with posts filled with dread because we have to play a ****-ass team that just fired their coach.

Which is it?

I’m sure it will Mike McCoy. They need someone who is offensive minded for the rookie QB. Shouldn’t matter though. This is the Vrabel Revenge Game.

I knew they were gonna do this to distract the Vrabel returning to Tennessee storyline. Now it’s their “get right with a new coach” game
Does it really distract from that though? I feel like it makes it worse. "We just fired the guy who replaced the last guy we fired, and that guy is now coming back here to beat our asses. Why did we fire him again?"

Wow! I was convinced that Mike McDaniel would be the first to get fired.

Not sure if this a good thing. Teams that fire their head coach can have a week or two where they play well above their abilities right after the firing and win a game or two. Not a good time for the Pats to play them.

That said, the Pats are clearly the superior team and the players will probably want to play out of their heads too to get the win for Vrabel.
If we play our best, we’ll still win. They’ll just likely be much more competitive than they would have been with Callahan.

If we play a sloppy, C level game, that’s what’ll get concerning.

Never understood the hire in the first place.

The data just doesn’t show in recent years that most teams follow up getting a coach fired by playing worse.

Plenty will still lose, but they largely show much more fight.

For those who actually care about the Titoons situation, Justin Graver is doing a live stream.

They were hyping this game on television Sunday as Vrabel's revenge return.

On Monday, Tennessee became the first NFL team to fire their head coach.
Thought for sure that dishonor would go to the Exit 44W Jete.

Defensively the Titans rank in the bottom-ten in most categories.
They are even worse offensively, in the bottom-five by most metrics.

As of Monday afternoon the Patriots are 6½-point favorites, with a couple sites at -7.

That all said, playing three consecutive road games is difficult.
Winning three straight games when they are all on the road is rare.
How the Titans react to their head coach being fired is an unknown wild card.

Remember all the people on this board that were constantly beating the "you need to hire a top OC as HC! it's the only way to win a Super Bowl!" drum. Gotta love the groupthink in the NFL!

Anyway, thanks Amy!

Interesting to see how things change. The good news is they likely won't be able to change a whole lot in 6 days.
What is Jerod Mayo doing these days??

I watched for 30 seconds, and he compared Cam Ward to Aaron Rodgers.
Well, posters here used to project Mac Jones as the next Matt Ryan or Chad Pennington but then he turned out to be a worse version of Ryan Tannehill.
