So we definitely reach 5 wins this year. Don't even play the game. Just give us the Jets wins.
Now now.... don't be too hasty... We will be the Jets super bowl this year. They will pull out all the stops against us and go all out with everything they have.

They might even... score in the double digits.

fireable situation at the end there. That was some second hand cringe there. I felt it deeply.

So going back to around 1 min left in the half...

The Jete are at 4th and 1 in their own territory, try to draw Denver offsides and fail, but then take their own timeout instead of the delay of game, which signals they're likely to get another offensive play in.

But then they line up for a punt, which doesn't make sense because they just took that timeout, which means a fake is likely. And then they DO run the fake anyway, and somehow convert.

This forces a Denver timeout. But then... they run the ball on first down into the middle of the field... and don't use their own timeout? So they must be trying to just burn clock right?

But then they take a sack... and DO use their own timeout... so... they're NOT trying to burn clock?

But then they throw into the middle of the field... and... don't use their last timeout... so... what is the plan? Well, it's 4th down, but they can try a hail mary or something as the clock expires...

Oh nevermind, they just stand there and let the clock run out.

WHAT WAS THE PLAN???

Ok fine fine...but play our 5th stringers so we get no meaningful injuries

Are you people going to continue to criticize Nix all the way to the Super Bowl??
The guy just wins games
Sadly, Nix is one of maybe 5 NFL starters that would NOT take this Denver team to the Super Bowl. They win despite Nix not being good. I don't know how anyone watches Nix and thinks he's good because the team wins? It's like saying Trent Dilfer won the Ravens a Super Bowl.

Assuming they reach the playoffs, just like last year Nix won't put points up against playoff defenses and they'll run into a top offense that the defense can't hold under 20 and Broncos will be out.

It's great for Patriots, one team that is wasting a prime-time roster with a bad QB, hopefully they keep Nix around thru the second contract.

I think it’s a fair assumption that the Jets haven’t practiced this scenario, probably haven’t practiced any situational football.

After the punt conversion I think they needed at least 1 play to get the clock running and then go hurry up and get what you can with no time for Denver. Which IMO is a little cowardly anyway. Its Bo Nix not 2007 Tom Brady. Who gives a **** if they get the ball back?? Worry about scoring first!! The next 3 downs is just incredibly dumb football. I kinda wonder if they thought they converted the first, wanted to spike it, realized it was 4th down, and just panicked and got no play in.

Either way it boils down to they're just stupid

IMO, Payton will trade Nix for a 1st to some team like the Jets once he finds a capable QB in the 2nd or 3rd round and extend out that cheap QB window.

Denver better sure up their kickoff coverage.

Glenn: "Oh damn, what do we do here?"

Staff and players: "You're supposed to tell US what to do, you're the HC"

Glenn: "I have no clue, what do you guys think?"

Clock: expires

Holy crap, that sequence...even on 4th and 1, run the clock down and run a hail mary or something. Garrett Wilson walking off the field in disgust before the half ended.
I actually think they should have just tried for a FG on 4th down.

Denver has to cover the hail mary so you can probably get a free fifteen into field goal range and your only risk would be leaving them 3 or 4 seconds for their own hail mary.

Ya, don't see that happening.
Nix is his guy.

The Jets ONLY offensive piece is Breece Hall... Wilson is good, but the QB can't get it to him, so he may as well not exist.

I never thought I'd say it, but this is SIGNIFICANTLY worse than even Jerod Mayo.

Corporate needs you to find the difference between these two pictures:

Pic 1: coach who blew the first overall pick in the draft
Pic 2: coach earning the first overall pick in the draft and won't be around to use it

sound about right?

One s got gray, hair the other one doesn't, other than that they're the same

Wouldn't be shocked to see Glenn win a meaningless game in the final week and blow the 1st overall too just like Mayo.

Then again, Woody will probably have fired him by then.
