Will Campbell Watch

Will Campbell plays at a position of high value. Some say second after the QB. Some say third after the backup QB.

But if he were a RB, he’d be a mid round guy like Cam Skattebo, who went ballistic in Arizona Stare’s playoff run.

He can pass block and us a good receiver.

So why wasn’t he drafted earlier, like TreVeyon Henderson early in the second round? He, liked Campbell, lacked an important measurement. Arm length for OTs. Linear speed for RBs.

But the most important variable is the human heart.

I don’t think anyone would say backup quarterback is the second most important position on the team.

Some nfl executives think that.

Literally none do [think the backup QB is the second most important position on the team].
Wrong.
“The most important position on your football team is the quarterback,” Ernie Accorsi said, the former GM for both the Browns and the Giants. “The second-most important position is your backup quarterback.”

So what we have learned is arm length isn’t the only factor in making a great tackle, and Ken doesn’t know how to read charts!
I wouldn’t jump to say “he’s a great tackle”. He is rock solid and has been good in pass protection. Run blocking has left something to be desired with our group.

If backup qb was the second most important player on the team they would be paid that way. They aren’t.

A backup QB being more important than a LT blocking the blind side of the starting QB is an oxymoron. The most likely reason the backup QB is playing is because the OL is ass.

And if your theory was correct, the Pats would've taken a QB at #4 instead of Will Campbell.

Pancake Blocks, basically throwing guys outta the club.
Perfect? No, but he's doing OK, and will get better as he gets stronger and more experienced.
Best guys get beat sooner or later.

"HORRIBLE CHOICE, HIS ARMS ARE TOO SHORT"
GFY LOSERS, enjoy eating sh it

I was worried about Campbell’s arm length until Vrabel got knocked on his arse.

And if we had lost to Buffalo in week 18 last year….we would have Abdul Carter or have sold off the Travis Hunter pick for a ransom…and still taken Banks Jr. or Simmons.

Also, nobody was trading the Banks pick for the #4 pick..and would the Chiefs have given us a ransom to move up to #4? I doubt it and I’d not wanted to risk missing out on Simmons at #31.

All in all, I am so happy with Campbell. Lowe even had a penalty while coming on the field as a 6th lineman last Sunday!

I expect Campbell to struggle when we face some real good DL men….like Myles Garrett. But he isn’t gonna embarrass us and get Maye killed….at least now Maye can run a bootleg without worrying much about his blind side…..
