Have We Ever Had A Weaker Schedule; 2 games remain against teams in the top 20 (NFL PR).

Which is actually a problem in itself.

The easy schedule will help us make the playoffs but we won’t be battle tested when we get there.

The dynasty Pats had to get past some tough competition to just get to the playoffs.
Yes, we must avoid a repeat of 2021.

I noticed that as well. #22 is that minor or woods?? was in at CB when Davis went out temporarily. Austin really has disappointed i really thought he could carve out a role in the defensive rotation.

At LB Tavai played really well. As you mentioned we may not have all pros but we have guys that play sound technique and are disciplined.

There's only one Fred Warner and he's in SF. No team is littered with all pro LBs..
#22 is Woods. He was picked up on waivers after the final cut and was a bit injured early in the season.

Woods has quietly moved ahead of Austin is the CB depth chart.

This is one of the rare occasions where I agree with you.
They're not even healthy yet.
get a room you two at the motel 6 in Foxborough... that post really got your love for BM got your temperature rising .

I personally think Goff is better and Detroit is going to the superbowl beating the eagles in the NFCCG. Just my opinion

It's the End Zone Inn, thank you very much.

And it will be Detroit v. Tampa. That game will be worth the price of admission.

I'd say the Rams, eagles or Detroit are better odds than TB to make the superbowl
DET and PHI are certainly more likely than TB to be in the Super Bowl.
LAR also, as you say.
Bettors also have SF and GB ahead of TB.

Zolak said he left the key under the rug.. just change the sheets.. not a bad matchup if I may say so myself!...

2011 is an interesting comparison.

I recall 2011 as that weird year where like 3/4's (or close to it) of the AFC was .500 or above. Weird year.

The schedule has always been our ace in the hole. The minute I saw it I thought it set our floor at 9 wins, and it's only gotten better watching so many of these teams perform badly so far. Too many people were stuck comparing us to last year's win total, but this team is not only much different but the stars aligned to give us many cupcake games (though we still have to play well to win them).
No you can’t rebuild in one year it takes at least 3. We should hope to maybe make the playoffs in 2027 if everything goes perfectly.

Pats are not beating Tampa in Tampa this season. Tampa might go to the Super Bowl.
I'd say 99.9% of the board thought the Pats were going to lose to the Bills on SNF. Tampa is a tough place to play, but they aren't the late 90's-early 2000's Bucs.

Or the Greatest Show on Turf.

Whatever happened to them?

2008 comes to mind. Got our butt kicked by any decent team that season.

You're right.

They have an MVP candidate at QB as opposed to Brad Johnson.

Pats got their asses kicked in 1997 with Trent Dilfer at QB. Many teams had a hard time playing there. From 1997-2002, they were 35-13 at home.

Baker Mayfield led Bucs are currently 10-9 at home.

Tampa is somehow still sneaky underrated, but vulnerable.

I view this game as something as a litmus test for Maye. Baker Mayfield has been putting up monster numbers for 2.5 years and is finally getting rightful recognition as a high end QB. Can Maye hold his own in a hostile environment? Can he outduel another MVP candidate? I will not be shocked if he does, nor will I if we lose.

I believe that. It's the "easiest" schedule I can ever remember seeing anyone have.
I remember the 2008 Pats as having an easy one but I don't have the actual numbers. I do have the numbers for the last 10 years though. These are the average opponents rankings for teams with the easiest schedules in that time;

2023 Dal 27.33
23 Mia 27.00
23 NO 24.67
23 Buf 23.67
25 Pats 21.06
18 Sea 20.77
23 Ari 20.67
24 Pats 20.59
25 Buf 20.41
23 Ten & GB 20.33
22 Phi 20.31
20 GB 20.25
24 Jags 20.24
23 Car & Den 20.00

So as it stands now there are 4 teams who had an easier schedule than the Pats this year, all in 2023.

Late 90’s-2000’s Rams should’ve been a team dominated throughout the 2000’s and met the Pats again in 2003. **** Vermeil quitting on them, injuries, dysfunctional management, bad drafting, bad team building and Kurt Warner as the scapegoat lead to their demise.

A healthy Warner gets the Rams past the Panthers easily. Panthers were a feel good story, but they had no business beating the Rams with or without Warner in the divisional round.
