I don't think that we would have pursued Diggs if Godwin signed here, I think it was one or the other. I have loved Diggs since I saw him in college. So I am glad it worked out the way it did, I had high expectations for Diggs but he is honestly surpassing what I imagined.

I figured thats Pats would be 3-2 at this point in the season. Honestly though their play has been much better than I expected on offense. I gotta tip my cap to Marone(I hate doing that), McD has really tweaked his scheme for Maye and its beautiful.

I am still expecting growing pains and dumb plays throughout the rest of the season, but am hoping they will be limited. In my eyes Maye really made strides against the Bills, but this thing is still a work in progress. This team severely lacks depth so injuries would really change the landscape of the season.
Well said that goes for everybody: there's no Deep Team anymore.

Vrabel or Maye? Are we doing this again?

No, NESN is doing this again but if we give it a hot minute the poo flinging monkey contingent here at PF will no doubt be all over it

5-time, 5-time, 5-time, 5-time, 5-time concussion-haver.

He could get a concussion brushing his hair at this point.
Must be talking about Olave...fkn guy will be retired soon.

It's going to be hard to prove one way or the other with Maye vs Vrabel (if and when that stupidity starts). Vrabel's arrival also coincided with a massive influx of talent, both personnel and coaching.

Coming off back to back 4 win seasons.. as a fan base we all know what playoff expectations felt like. However with the last 2 seasons it felt like we were still a rebuilding team. Now I believe we are a team that has been going through a reset. We have the 2 most important elements in building a contender coach and QB.

For example Washington last season was supposed to be "rebuilding " look that they achieved. To be above 500, and 2-0 in tje division is such an unexpected thing at this point and it's a pleasure to be able to talk and think playoffs. The AFC is wide open and barring major injuries this team should at minimum be a wildcard. They are hungry and you can tell they want to win.
I’ll go even further with that
Aside from the Coach (which I believe we have a good one) that will be here for a long time
5 of the most important positions which are the cornerstones of a team.
Positions that rarely become available in FA if they are elite are QB, LT, CB, DT and WR1
From what we have seen on a small scale we may have 4 of them on the team now.
Maye, Gonzo, Campbell, Williams/Barnmore
WR1 is the least important of those 4 but will hopefully be filled next year
So including the Coach 5/6 is there.

Yep.

I definitely do not think the Chargers win the division. The implosion has already started. Cursed franchise.

Denver....not yet. Bo Nix is too inconsistent. I believe Maye is will end up being better.

Raiders...lol.

Chiefs...too good to not string wins together. And as long as they get in, who in the AFC is challenging them? Buffalo is very flawed and do not have the coaching needed to beat them in January. Pittsburgh is a pretender. Chargers...cursed.
Why not us!

I saw an article or you tube video asking who deserves more credit, Vrabel or Maye? Are we doing this again? Why does it have to be one or the other, I am firmly in the camp of its everyone that deserves credit. Without McD, who knows if Maye improves and without Maye does McD's offense have legs. Same goes for Vrabel.

I've heard rumblings that Vrabel is going to let Maye walk after his rookie contract and that he's going to name Terrell Williams OC in 2026.

28 passes, 4 sacks, took off running 3 times, that gets you to 35, anyway
Could the other 5 be plays with penalties? Especially if they were ol infractions they'd want to include it.

Good God why

I'd say Diggs has been the WR1 we've been lacking. He's the Terry mclaurin that Daniels had last season. However I definitely agree with your overall post. No matter how the season ends we have a bright future ahead.

The problems seem to go beyond the fumbles though wouldn’t you say? Hes looked completely average the last couple seasons other than Cincinnati last year and miami this year. Hes not the guy he was in 22 and its not like our OL was great that year. Hopefully Vrabels approach works and his patience pays off because we need more out of him. Not sure if he is in his own head but something is off, everytime they show his face he looks like he just got off a 14 hour flight sitting next to Aaron Rodgers
I'd also mention this. He lost his father over the offseason. A huge part of his life and his support system as he mentioned.

Could this be a factor??

Ahh that sucks to hear, pretty young to lose a Father. But the struggles did start last year.

Listened to Bedard, he said this was Campbell’s worst game, largely due to poor run blocking. Same for Wilson.

Left side of the line not doing any favors for our running backs who are already struggling on their own.

Other than a possible playoff game that is the last time the Pats will visit Highmark Stadium right? New place opens next season?

If so nice to finish there with a W.
That’s correct. And if the Pats slip into the playoffs as a WC team there seems a good chance they could go back to Buffalo. But it would be much nicer to be hosting at Gillette, and it’s not out of the question yet. Just saying.

Saw some of those game breakdowns: Maye's passing is phenomenal. It's not that he has a Strong arm: it's his ball placement and touch. Maye puts the Football only where his guy or the sidelines can get it; no Defense can defend that. Maye's understanding of leverage is very 10 year vet like: knowing when a CB or Safety is leaning one way or another. No human can be in two places at once. Maye's throws got there: most times he was under duress. Very few QB's Today and we know who they are can make those plays.

Makes it VERY hard to believe is some of these "stats pages" when it claims success for Campbell on 40 pass block snaps and the Pats only threw the ball 28 times. See the problem?
He’s so good he blocked two plays in one?
