Would you trade the Pats 2026 extra 4th round pick (from Chicago) to Seattle for RB Kenneth Walker?

I would think this is a trade and extend scenario. If we get walker hes most likely replacing rham than Gibson. That allows us to cut rham in 26 and move forth with walker/henderson and Gibson if he can recover, otherwise larison is still a solid rb3.
I know Vrabel is saying all the right things still: I find it hard to imagine that Rham is not on thin ice with him. I can't see him relying on a known fumbler: I hope last Sunday was Rham's last fumble for a while.

Walker has issues staying healthy, but is a good player.

Because he doesn't appear to fit in their plans, and they will lose him in 12 more games.

I'm confident that what happens in the next 12 games matters more to the current SEA staff than what may or may not happen next year after they draft and develop a 4th round pick.

Oh man bad news . I just checked otc and there are no cap savings from cutting rham next year. He’ll probably be kept around for depth. Only in 2027 we can get savings.

Good you have such certainty.

Aqib Talib and Logan Mankins both traded fpr 4th round picks.

I have no certainty, but ai don't think it's outside the realm of possibility.

If you are responding to me, confidence is different than certainty.

The difference between Talib and Mankins being traded is that Bill was confident he'd be back next season.

I don't think the SEA staff feels the same level of confidence.

I don't think they worry about next season's draft capital more than they do about keeping their jobs.

Getting into the playoffs this season matters a lot more to them than a 4th next season.

Even if Walker only makes a handful of plays this season, they'll be glad they kept him.

With Antonio Gibson out for the year and Rhamondre Stevenson fumbling, the Pats could use another option at RB. Kenneth Walker could be available with the emergence of Zac Charbonnet in Seattle.
Remember teams used to have one primary workhorse RB.. 90s and early 2000s.. we have 3 solid backs. Of course it's unfortunate with gibby going down. The likely option is elevating hasty of the PS. Eventually Henderson it's all going to come in place for him. He's shown flashes but once he starts to hit a stride his career will take off. Rham complicates this because of his fumbles. But if walker can be obtained absolutely.

What's the price? 4th round? No.
Also I don't think Seattle would do that either.

I really like the player, but Seattle would want a Day 2 pick, and I wouldn't do more than a pick swap.

I would NOT do a day 2 pick for a RB with Walker's injury history, decrease of production, and in a contract year, no matter how talented.

I said I like the player, I do.

Only way I'd give up a Day 2 pick is for Breece Hall, because he's just being wasted in New Jersey. I don't think you could pry Walker loose for a 4th rounder, and honestly, that price is a little high for someone who's a rental.

The Chiefs 4th, not Chicago's, for Walker and a 6th maybe...

We don't have the Chief's 4th, we have ours and Chicago's.

KC got Chicago's 4th for Joe Thuney, then traded it to us to move up for Nohl Williams.

You are not getting a team with aspirations to win their division to trade away a productive player. Walker may not be as productive as he was in the past, but he is still producing. He still leads the team in rushing. They aren't trading him.

You need to look for a older player or player on the last year of his deal on a team that sucks. Now the team that the Pats is playing on Sunday has a RB that fits that category. I think Alvin Kamara is a possible trade although I don't know with how the Saints mismanage their cap whether they can trade him cap wise.

Note that the predicted price is a 4th round pick.
Speculated price.
And Dallas is in a different stage than we are. They're a win-now team (even if their roster doesn't really reflect that).

That 4th rounder could be a starting right guard in 2026. Or a depth corner. Or a speedy linebacker.

Agree. So many of the proposals on this board involve other teams giving up productive players on their current roster for future draft picks. The obvious question is why would they do that? A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

I was thinking a 3rd and get a 6th or 7th back
