I read the 70 year old used mace first and then Sanchez started beating him so he knifed Sanchez. Crazy story. Who knows. Supposedly the police have video.
Sounds like Sanchez was a drunk mess and tried attacking him.

Nobody deserves to be a victim of a crime! Hope he is OK, as always, I would wait for the facts, sounds like he might have known his attacker.
He was the one that got arrested.

This sounds like an episode of one of those cop shows my wife watches thru her eyelids.

I'm guessing it's 'thru her eyelids'... until ofc you try changing the channel or shutting it off. 'Cause that's how it often goes here

Considering he's facing several charges after being the one stabbed...maybe not so nice.

Fair enough, but we only have one side of the story so far.

The man must've been talking **** to Sanchez which started the fight. The one question remains is what the hell is Sanchez doing out this late before a broadcasting gig? His wife isn't going to like this when she finds out he probably lied to her and said he was going to sleep in his hotel room.
The story is that Sanchez was drunk and he was arguing with the guy to move out of parking spot. The guy wouldn't. Sanchez started attacking him, the guy had mace, it didn't work, so then his next resort was to stab him. The guy was also hospitalized in the attack.

It's kinda hard to have much sympathy for Sanchez here. Obviously hope he's okay. However, he was supposedly attacking a near 70 year old over a parking spot, and the 70 year old was the one who tried to deescalate with the mace before resorting to the knife. Also since the older man was also badly injured, you can't really argue it was some guy making a mountain out of a molehill and looking for a reason to pull a knife.

You can take Sanchez out of the JETE but you can’t take the JETE out of Sanchez…

Cops had sufficient evidence to believe that story enough to arrest a very high profile ex-NFL QB and current national broadcaster.

They’re not going to make that arrest lightly. Saw a comment in this thread that they had video.

Thought that was a safe city. Times have changed.
I lived in Indy for a year, many years ago. It’s a city that had a lot of poor white trash (oops can’t say that now) socioeconomically disadvantaged residents who migrated from redneck Appalachia rural mountainous areas in states to the south of Indiana.

So like any city there are always neighborhoods that are not as safe and secure as upwardly mobile suburbanites would like. The city itself was pretty gritty back then, and I doubt it’s changed much.

Seems Sanchez was the one talking **** to start. Things escalated when his bullying the other guy was unsuccessful.

I take it you haven’t traveled much on business. IIRC it was around midnight. To me that doesn’t seem really terribly late on a Friday night before a Sunday game. If he was out drinking and dining with colleagues from the football or broadcast worlds it’s actually working time. When I was working onsite with colleagues it was commonplace to work late then go out for a late dinner and drinks afterward, debriefing the day and planning the next one. Midnight was not a late night. NBD.

Looking at the map to find where the location of the police call was, it’s about one to two blocks from the Hyatt Regrncy, and Lucas Oil Stadium is about three blocks away. I didn’t look closely but from vague recollections of the area it’s got some restaurants and bars around there. Again, NBD. Until some drunken bully starts something that gets out of control.

I mean, we have the cops side of the story. So that's two sides.
The Police statement is the other side of the story told to them by the person Sanchez assaulted.

I've read that Sanchez reached into a vehicle after someone. He is lucky that he was not shot and killed because Indiana is a Castle Doctrine state. Understanding the Castle Doctrine in Indiana
