Will Campbell Watch

He had an excellent game today.
He is not all pro yet either
They have played 4 games against bad or mediocre teams 3 at home.

Lets see how he does for an entire season.

Simmons is doing great by the way.
Why the rush to make snap judgments after playing a few crappy teams early in the season?

Says the guy who posted a thread ****ting all over him and declaring Simmons the " steal of the draft" after 1 pre season game. You didn't want Maye, you didn't want Campbell, and you didn't want Vrabel. You look desperately to **** on all 3 of them at the most minuscule opportunity. In short Sam you are an idiot. And it's really disgraceful that you are rooting for them to fail in the desperate hope to be " right."

But… he’s gonna suck! The t-Rex arms … the 1/3 inch…. They shoulda… anyone but this kid… but but…

Ok serious question now; anyone know how Membu is doing?

Maybe, just maybe, the guys with shorter arms, just....weren't good enough?

And the goalpost moves.

When he looked good in the first preseason game, after you gushed about reports of Simmons in practice, you completely downplayed it, saying we need to see how he plays for an entire game that counts. Now we need to wait for an entire season. (And to the surprise of I'm sure no one, your next words are to once again praise Simmons)

Sam Bam in 20 years:

Yeah, Campbell had a solid career, blocking against linemen the majority of which weren't 1st team all pros.

Let's see how good of a speech he has in Canton tomorrow.

Simmons just opened up his 7th restaraunt, by the way.

Sam however had a valid basis for his take of Simmons over Campbell, he had never seen either of them play.

This dude isn't even a real Pats fan. No way when he ****s on every Pats player and players on other teams are fantastic HoFers.
Sam is a “concern troll.” He likes to piss people off with his “concerns” and “is just asking questions.” We need to remember “he has his own opinions about things” and “is simply sharing his observations so the rest of us can be real about <whatever>.” It’s an act folks.

The sad thing is he is pretty observant about things and every so often he does have interesting opinions about football. So even more sadly he doesn’t realize how insufferable his act is.

I’m glad they didn’t listen to some posters wanting Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter. That would’ve been awful

Playing Devil’s advocate, Carter is having an excellent season, and looks like a difference maker.

That being said, I loved the draft pick, and LOVED what he said about protecting Maye on draft night. Kid has the right mentality, and excellent skill. People were so focused on the arm length, they didn’t look at the rest of his talents.

The thing is that they have to have all of the mental and emotional attributes to become great and sustain it. Campbell is playing really well, but he's going to have his bad moments and days, however instead of turtling and going to **** when they happen he's going to learn from them and get better. And he's got that bit of nasty that all great OL have. I loved it when Edelman and Gronk went to camp and came out of it saying that his mentality reminded them of Mankins, which is exactly what you want, an OL who wants to finish the guy in front of them on every play. I guess you could say that the Patriots " got the steal of the draft!"

I see it differently. I think Sam is just a miserable person who has to find something negative in everything. And he has to spread his misery as a way of alleviating it, because pissing others off makes him happy.

Eh Simmons can be great if that knee holds up.

Also the Pats had to take Simmons at 4 or they weren't getting him at all imo. The Chiefs were targeting him so any trade down by the Pats would make the Chiefs trade up ahead of us to get him. And we probably lose Campbell by doing that.

I’m the first to say stats aren’t the best way to judge a defensive player but Carter has a total of 0.5 sacks and 9 total tackles on a poorly ranked defense on a 1-3 team, so at first glance I don’t see an excellent season.

His Arms are OBVIOUSLY TOO SHORT.

What's hilarious about that is that 1/3 of an inch is less than the length from the last knuckle on your pinky finger and the end of it, yet they argued non stop that it was a massive difference, and that they could tell from looking at him that his arms were 1/3 of an inch too short. Anyone who made that argument should look at their pinky finger, and the distance between the last knuckle on it and the end of it, then ask themselves if they want to reconsider their original take?

A blind squirrel finds a nut now and then.
He’s just anti-patriot. That’s his schtick. Who knows why, it’s either trolling or he is just a miserable person who hates his life and expects everything to go wrong.
There are some negative fans who just get angry when the team doesn’t win and lash out. Then there are the Sams who predict doom and gloom, consider everything a failure waiting to happen and their first reaction to a win is to point out the negative or downplay the win (ie yeah that opponent sucked, it doesn’t mean anything)

Wait a minute. Isn't that the New England way? I didn't know that could be a bad thing.
