Signbabybrady baby feels that Boutte " sucks "too.. strong words. Boutte is realistically a 3 on a good team.. however he makes clutch plays for Drake and has...been a reliable option. Are some point whoever is out there is simply going to have to man up and play better. Ideally you're looking for Pop to be that guy.Agree
I think for the immediate future they like Hollins and Diggs helping out in the slot. I think Chism will finally get playing time when the matchup dictates it. Do Diggs and Boutte have experience playing against the Panthers outide guys? Have they had success? 5'11 176 LB Chau Smith-Wade looks like he's the nickle CB...not a lot of experience. Can Pop take advantage of the lack of experience? I doubt it. He's probably quick at that weight though. He has 3 inches over Pop. I'd rather see Hollins take advantage of the height difference at 6'4" even though he's relatively slow. Hollins is also a better run blocker if that will be a big part of the gameplan. Their are tradeoffs depending on what Josh plans to do.
SBB,I hate to say it but Boutte still kind of sucks too. He might be the best we have, I still think that will probably end up being Diggs as the year goes on but I don't think either are going to be a true WR1.
From their everything goes on a curve because Williams and Chiz haven't shown the coaches they are better yet. Douglas is heading the wrong direction and Hollins is what he is (average at best).
I think about the only thing we can do other than a trade is settle on our best 3 or 4 and stop rotating the others so much.
For me that's in order Diggs, Boutte, Williams, and Chiz and the last 2 are just kind of default I'd rather play the rooks at this point.
I think he's a 2 on every team and might be good enough to be a 1 in 2-3 years...but that title should go to Williams by then.Boutte is realistically a 3 on a good team
I can't see that now. Pop feels like a square peg trying to fit into a round hole. He was a better fit in the O last year. The future is Chism but today I think it's Hollins, Diggs and Pop in the slot. As you know I hated the Hollins signing but the dude was 4 for 4 in receptions last game. Only Henry had more receptions. He doesn't suck in the slot.At some point whoever is out there is simply going to have to man up and play better. Ideally you're looking for Pop to be that guy.
I like it. I'll take #2 for Boutte. With his 14 YPC average. The mystifying thing With pop is even McDaniels raved about how he's acclimated to the offense all camp. Now it looks like he's lost. Or ,I can't make it out he's simply not producing.I think he's a 2 on every team and might be good enough to be a 1 in 2-3 years...but that title should go to Williams by then.

He really just had to fall forward after he caught it and he would have had the 1st down. It was covered pretty quickly but he had room to lunge forward, he must have thought he was 2 yards short when he caught it (only explanation I have). You're right though the loss wasn't on PopDouglas could not get to the 1st down line or beyond it because the Pitt DBs were there waiting and had it covered. Douglas went to an area where Maye could get him the ball without fear of an INT.
The play was reminiscent of Faulk coming up short in Indy.
Douglas getting blamed for losing the game is a joke.

Yeah a little harsh. He doesn't suck but when he's the best you have it means the whole group kind of sucks then. You make great points. Tweet is also wrong.
This is the dumbest play by a WR.
It just kills me every time his name gets brought up.Lol....Not having enough fun this week. Just kick us all in the balls with that memory.
If Pop has one more game of invisibility, then I do smell a trade for WR coming.
At that position, you can't be production-less.
Personally, I want Meyers.
I don't care about trading even a 2nd rd pick - it would just be wasted on another worthless bust of a WR next year
Calling Chism the future is a huge overstatement right now. He’s an UDFA. Credit to him for making the team, but most of the guys line that who make the team aren’t actually good enough to play. Way more likely than Chism being the “future” is that he’s roster fodder whos only borderline roster able and should never play. And if that’s all he is he’s still outplaying his pedigree even.I think he's a 2 on every team and might be good enough to be a 1 in 2-3 years...but that title should go to Williams by then.

NFL players run 5 second 40 yard dashes.LOL! No it didn't. When he stopped, there wasn't a defender within five yards of him.
Then why did Douglas stop? The safety had to come from mid field to make the play and I am not sure Douglas even saw him.
Divide 5 yards into 40 yards and you get 8.The guy who should have been covering the outside down marker was five yards down the field.
You're talking about 5 centimeters. He was literally STANDING on the first down line. All he had to do was fall down. You are talking about 5 yards.
The still photo shows the ball hitting Douglases hands. He still had to complete the catch and secure the ball. You're talking about 5 centimeters. He was literally STANDING on the first down line. All he had to do was fall down.
I truly believe it has so much to do with with the game planning.. we've seen this from Josh over the years.. one game it's this guy, the next game it's another guy. For example rham had the big game week 2, then Henry had a big game week 3.. Hopefully it's pop who can finally break out this funk he's in.Yeah a little harsh. He doesn't suck but when he's the best you have it means the whole group kind of sucks then.
He can still improve too. Week 1 was obviously exciting but weeks 2 and 3 he didn't exactly follow it up.
You are an MIT graduate?NFL players run 5 second 40 yard dashes.
Divide 5 yards into 40 yards and you get 8.
So, even a 8 second 40 yard dash divided by 8 = 1 second. Douglas had no chance because the Steeler DBs were closing so fast.

Because he wanted to give Maye a clean target.
