You know he’s a backup right?
You can’t make up your mind, you want him to be good so you can stick it to Bill, but you want him to be bad so you can blame Bill for Jonathan’s draft pick… make up your mind.

Shame Bill can’t develop QBs not named Brady…

You attributing emotions to me that don’t exist… that and lying seems to be your only rebuttals.

Won 11 games with Matt Cassel, Jimmy G played in a Super Bowl… seems he can.

Mac and Thornton making Bill's track record the last few years look better.
Very much the contrary. It means he was a total failure at developing them.

Time and effort to post that a backup QB puts up backup QB numbers… and getting triggered whenever you see the words Mac jones…ya you’re wound up. Lol.

Shanahan developed Jimmy more than anything Bill did. Cassel for a season lolololol. How did his team do in the playoffs?

Nope Bill can’t do it or he would have done it already. Unless he is the luckiest coach ever and has Tom Brady to work with. Which he was.

Mac is in year five and on his third team, he was tagged as the “most pro ready” QB in his draft class.

Drake Maye in year two was the youngest starting QB in his draft class… are you really comparing the two? Good grief…

Mac has excuses… that’s what Mac has.
As of today, Mac Jones (.431%) has a higher winning percentage than Drake Maye's (.153%). That's a large discrepancy coming from a QB that is on his 3rd team. And your going to like this, he's got a better winning percentage than Trevor Lawernce at .380%. By the way, he's gotten two HC's fired. Like Jones, QB's have an extremely short life span due to the pressure HC's have for a QB to start winning some games. The narrative of waiting for him to "develop" is easy for us armchair QB's to say. HC's jobs are on the line and don't have time for that ****. Josh Allen is the widely used example because he was viewed as a bust by his 2nd year. The only difference is, he still found a way to have a winning record and make the playoffs by his 2nd season. He was also a young "raw" QB at 23 years old. The excuses for Maye are getting tiresome.

I believe Allen made the playoffs in his second season. Will Drake?

He did. They were 10-6 in 2019 facing the Tom Brady/BB led Pats in their division.

Don't forget as a DC he had possibly the GOAT defensive player in LT.

Bill is the LOAT, luckiest of all time.

Just kidding, if that was the case Brady and so many of his former players wouldnt be calling him the GOAT and that they were lucky to have him.

Outside of Gibbs all GOAT HCs had a GOAT QB for their generation like Bill Walsh, whom I think was a better talent evaluator and team builder than Belichick.

Andy Reid was a joke until he got Mahomes. No body took Bruce Arians as a serious HC until he got Brady for 1 year.

And Todd Hailey took Matt Cassell to the playoffs. Cassell was a decent to good QB in his prime. It wasn't some miracle that Belicheck won 11 games with him.

Belichick valued having a capable backup QB knowing you cant win without a decent QB. Its why he always invested in the position while stupid fans thought they were the heir replacement to Brady

Bill drafted and developed Tom, had him for 20 years. He wasn’t in the market for QB’s and didn’t spend high picks on them. He spent a 7th on Cassel even though he hadn’t started a single game in college. Cassel won 11 games, he went to a Pro Bowl as a Chief. Jimmy also went to a Super Bowl, he spent his developmental years in New England. Stop sniffing glue.

Still extremely confident he’ll never amount to anything more than a WR 4/5

Also, credit to Mahomes for throwing to the likes of him and JuJu

Win percentage is a team stat, not a QB stat.

Drake Maye currently ranks 5th in passing yards in the entire NFL, tied for third in passing TD’s, 73% completions, 9th best QB Rating, 9th most rushing yards by a QB… he’s doing pretty good for the youngest quarterback from his draft class.

Mac? He’s got benched four times for sucking in New England and got shipped out by an entirely different regime, he played okay for Jacksonville then fell off a cliff, now he’s doing the same in San Francisco.

It’s a laughable comparison… Drake Maye is a mostly unknown that seems to improve with every start and has peak talent for the position. Mac was a flabby guy who stuck around Alabama long enough that a job fell in his lap and he got to play with the best weapons in college. He was good for 13 games being overly protected as a rookie then fell off a cliff and sucked for the next four years… wtf are we doing here?

He provides Chiefs with a field stretching WR on the outside, David Patten wasn’t a superstar, but he played a role and did it well. He caught 2-3 deep balls a game and kept opposing defenses honest. Thornton is doing for the Chiefs was MVS and Justin Watson did before.

He’s already playing well, all he has to do is stay healthy.

What are we doing here? We are talking about a former player who did his job and has helped keep his team stay undefeated. On the other hand, the Pats dropped their 2nd straight game at home and are 1-2.

I really don’t give a **** about Maye’s stats if he’s winning games. Problem is, he’s not. Tom Brady had pedestrian stats early on, but found ways to get wins. Maye’s lost two games at home that were within reach and was also not winning those games last season. Vrabel is 7-20 in his last 27 games. He’s going to need Maye’s diapers to eventually come off.

It’s a kick in the nuts. Reports coming from KC in the offseason were quite positive about Thornton so I expected this to some extent.

We cant draft receivers for **** and on the rare occasion that we draft a functional one we are garbage at developing them.
We can't draft WRs for ****, but, boy, can we make long threads about drafting WRs talking about the same **** over and over.

I doubt you guys are watching the games. Thornton has beaten his man repeatedly down the field but Mahomes has been off on a number of throws because their OL is terrible and he's running for his life. Thornton will be a solid #2 or a really good #3.

Just because he didn't do well here doesn't mean he sucks. I think a lot of you guys judgement is clouded because you want him to suck.

The Chiefs has been saying a lot of positive things about him since the off-season so this isn't a surprise.

Mac sucked yesterday, 1 TD, two turnovers… they squeaked out a win despite Mac.

Win percentage is a team stat. If that’s the only thing you can cite you don’t have a leg to stand on.
