OT/Humor: The dumbest trade idea ever

Was one of those the "on to Cincinnati" game?
Im not sure.

The first one was the week before 9/11/2001. Bledsoes last complete game as a Pat.
The 2nd one was in 2019. Bradys final season with the Pats.

It's not really for two first round picks though is it because one of those would have to be used on a QB so it's Drake Maye for a potential downgrade at the position plus one first round pick.

or...

Let the Tommy Cutlets era begin!

Love Burrow, but Hell No!!! Maye is the best young QB in the league; plus we’d need 4 first rounders minimum to even begin to contemplate such idiocy.

Batshit Fan potential trades are like idk reverse body dysmorphia for the ego or something.

Manx, the return rate on young QB’s turning into franchise quarterbacks is abysmally low. When you find one you keep them. There is no trade I would take for Maye. The only player I would trade Maye for is Josh Allen ( which would not happen) , and no number of first round picks would be enough for me to trade him. Christ, look at what’s going on with Arch Manning, who has turned into Chuck Knoblauch. ( an arcane baseball reference-Knoblauch was an All Star 2nd baseman for the Yankees who made an errant throw one day and suddenly couldn’t make a good throw after that. Despite having been a very good player that’s ultimately what he’s remembered for.) Manning, after looking like the next great QB suddenly can’t play the position, and based on his play, and not his name, would be a day 3 pick at best. He will likely turn it around, but it just shows how fickle finding the right QB prospect can be.

The fact of the matter is that as enticing as 1st round picks always are they could trade Maye for 4 1st round picks, use all 4 on quarterbacks, miss on every one, and end up sucking for another 10 years. They appear to be turning the corner on suckitide right now, have a really promising young quarterback surrounded by a good coaching staff, and should build a contender around him, instead of making a deal that would only set them back to suckitude, and start over hunting for a franchise quarterback.

There is no number of 1st round picks I would take for him. Now is the time to build a contender, starting over from scratch with no franchise quarterback makes no sense. They could get 4 1st round picks and miss on every one of them, or package them up for a prospect and miss on him. Go with what they have and build a contender around him.

Neither would I. Maye was my favorite QB prospect since Luck & I’ve been following him for years; even before UNC. I threw 4 first rounders out there because someone mentioned trading him for a mere “2 first rounders” which is asinine. That’s incomprehensible. Anyway, yeah Maye is off limits.

Uptown, I didn’t think you were endorsing the idea, I was just responding to the idea of trading him in general. The garbage that comes across the internet in every field has reached the point of absurdity, and nothing demonstrates that better that the idiotic trade proposals these assholes put out. Before Maye was drafted a Chicago sports writer put one out that had the Patriots trading the #3 overall for Justin Fields, and some here actually bought into it. Chicago ends up with the #1, 3, and 9 picks in the first round, and the Patriots get a ****ty overrated Quarterback who some fell in love with because he can run. I called the writer out on it and even he admitted that it was batshit crazy and would never happen.

Yeah, that only makes sense by viewing the Patriots' raison d'être as existing to solve other team's problems.
