@sb1 stop lying…. you’re clearly triggered.
You said it. "top five defense". And you're triggered cause I called you out for once again gaslighting with your pretend facts.

Last word to you cause I know you can't help yourself. I'm so rent free inside the cult's heads. They can't handle the truth.

You edited my comment. You’re a liar.

I much prefer Patfanken Monday threads to Overreaction Monday threads.
That was more of a yearly thing I had a thread for overreaction Monday the last couple of years.

But I like this better too.

Now you're calling Vrabel a liar.

'Liar' is your choice of words, not mine. #IntellectuallyDishonest #BadActor #Troll

He said he had no reservations.

Right, as if he was going to admit it was a desperation move.

The evidence is clear that (a) it was and (b) he did have reservations on 4th and 5 and (c) probably still had reservations about kicking on 4th and 10.

Every single Pats fan except for Borregales's mother had reservations.

Vrabel's a coach engaging in coach-speak.

Of course he's going to pump up the guy he chose to keep by praising him instead of calling him out for missing two PATs in a three point game.

Vrabel took a high-risk gamble and luckily for him it paid off otherwise you'd probably be seeing a new kicker at the rent-a-car desk at Logan.

If we're being honest we admit these things, but some prefer dishonesty.

Narrative would be quite different today if that kickoff screwup lost the game which it nearly did.

I don't know what you're going on about.

I thought it was nice to see him show confidence in his guy.

Especially on the day where Parker Romo went 5-for-5 on FGs plus a PAT.

Personally I think Borregales is one bad game away from being run off, and unfortunately I think he has that in him.

Hope I'm proven wrong.

The only way to test a rookie kicker is to let him kick. It was a smart gamble, not a desperate one. Show the kid you still have faith in him. The penalty made it a non issue anyway.

Of course it was nice.

I'm sure your family members say nice things about you too, regardless of what they really think.

Agree that it was the smart move rather than the honest move. If that kid gets into his own head his career as a kicker is over.

It was a smart gamble, not a desperate one.

It was both, IMO. If Borregales misses that forces the issue and his likely replacement is in camp tomorrow. Yet the game situation was such that Vrabel had no better option but to let him try to make it.

He only let him kick after the penalty gave him little choice but to let him do so.

IMO that's not really showing faith.

There's a Springsteen lyric that fits the situation: "can't tell my courage from my desperation".

On the punt return TD, did it look like Schooler got blocked in the back but the back of a Dolphin, opening al ane for the return?

You can choose not take Vrabel at his word if you want. He talked about it again today too.

IMO he lives to fight another day. If that situation didn't come up late in the game, I really wonder if he'd be cut this week. I'm pretty sure we'd at least be seeing other PKs making visits. Let's hope he starts making the easy ones.

You seem to have gotten lost. This ain’t the Jets Forum.

I happened to see a clip of Milton Williams' game ending sack this morning and it reaffirmed something that I've preached for many years. That is "In the game of Football, everyone's INDIVIDUAL success is affected by his teammates around him on every play".

Williams is truly a force of nature. A rare combination of size, agility and power who has to be accounted for every play he's on the field. But what you don't hear about is how the game he played with Landry helped him make that play. What you won't hear about is that in making HIS part of the game, Landry literally got the **** kicked out of him and knocked on his ass.

What I love about the game is that it is one where EVERYONE's individual success is so completely dependent on by everyone else around them. So, while we are inundated with constant blasts about a player's individual success. (Tua vs Maye, or look at that individual throw, tackle, catch) the REALITY is football is a TEAM game and very little happens without the aid of someone else even when THAT person's individual result is a lot less glorious.

So thank you Harrold Landry for your effort on a key play in a game that saw you end up on your ass, because that is beauty of the game.
100% this.

I have told others many times (and will continue to do so until the day comes that the NFL totally screws up with their tweaks) - pro football is by far the ultimate team sport. Every individual award is, in reality, a team award.

Ha ha ha!

I actually find Springsteen in general to be shallow and boring if not repulsive, but for some reason this lyric stuck to me.

That's enough boys. Time to let the other people play with the ball.
Thanks for trying. Really appreciate your effort in the OP writeup. Please don’t let the monkeys flinging poo that hijacked the thread dissuade you from trying again after future games. Your insights are always very informative and helpful. It’s just too bad that some kids prefer a food fight to civil dinner table conversation. I hate censorship so have not explored Ian’s muting tools but I’m about to start putting some bad actors on permanent ignore if I can’t at least redact them from threads where they lose it totally.

What Ian really needs to add is a time-out box feature where the rest of us can vote them off the island and into a padded cell where they can only post replies to each other until they both STFU for some period. I’d suggest 48 hours, but that might turn into a permaban so less would be ok, just enough to show they have calmed down and can exercise self control.

Or maybe the mods could temporary ban them if they get enough complaints. Two pages of nothing but sniping back and forth on this thread is well past the point where a kindergarten teacher would have them sitting facing the wall in opposite sides of the room until they straightened up, IMO. Maybe we need some of that in this forum?
