That's what happens when they can't beat out the other 53...They putting their wives on waivers?
Why would we keep 4 guards? Your-now starting LG can also play center, there's no need to keep more than 9. There's a lot of versatility on that line, making keeping 10 offensive linemen (which is a lot, a) and b) what they did last year, and all 10 were terrible), completely unnecessary. They're not going into the first game of the year with 8 gameday WRs. Diggs/Bourne/Baker could be IR'd-return, and Baker at least could go to the PS. but you want flexibility for when they add people in the next few days, especially if they use a waiver claim, or a PS pickup, who would *have* to be in the 53, and not be able to be sent to the PS.I covered that a few posts ago. We prioritized an 8th WR over a 4th guard. Obviously we aren't done but there is no guarantee as to what we will find. It just seems irresponsible to risk that for an 8th WR instead.
True and that is because Vrabes has done this before and shows competencyIf Mayo had kept 8 WR last year he would have been destroyed by all Boston media but since it’s Vrabel it’s ok.
No offense but I’ll defer to Doug Marrone’s experience over your neuroses as to Brown or Wallace’s ability to play a decent guard if they must. I love how worked up we can get over this stuff. Got my fingers crossed they sign a veteran interior Olineman to the practice squad tomorrow to make you feel better.I covered that a few posts ago. We prioritized an 8th WR over a 4th guard. Jesus are you stupid?Brilliant cut the only backup you have at one position and keep 8 WRs. Make it make sense?
Much better? Dunno. I see it more like we'll have a chance at claiming a few guys who suck less than the ones we're letting go.Most of the players on the roster who were cut just plain sucked. The ones that were cut can come back if need be, because they suck and no one else will want them. But chances are we will have much better players to pick up from other teams rosters who haven’t sucked the last two years
Can Doug Marrone actually play guard lolNo offense but I’ll defer to Doug Marrone’s experience over your neuroses as to Brown or Wallace’s ability to play a decent guard if they must. I'd have kept a 4th guard because we really only have 1. We also have a rookie center who we are transitioning to guard and a failed tackle who we are transitioning to guard both who have like a combined ten weeks of practice. Oh and Brown has taken a few snaps of reps too but he's kind of busy being our backup center. Why would we keep 4 guards? Still one of the most mind-boggling things I've seen not just in the NFL but in ALL sports at ANY level. And I've watched and played sports for 65 years+.maybe we are adopting the Indy Offense...

Keeping a guard instead of WR8 doesn't change your flexibility. If there's a better guard on the waivers then you get him cut Strange or Sow then. How is that less flexible than 8wr?
I'd love to hear of some instances of a team ever carrying less experience at one position before. Seriously I know I'm freaking out a little and that would help.
Thanks that's a good example. Macs second year hmmm that was pretty risky. Still seems a little different at the QB spot but it does help to see a similar gamble.Iirc in ‘23 we had 1 qb on the roster after final cutdowns. Then zappe and whoever else cleared waivers as expected and we signed zappe or maybe both of them to the ps. Eventually brought zappe back to the active roster.
Theres no point keeping sow, conley, or lindstrom because even if we did need them we can just bring then back later like zappe after sorting out the deeper positions. But hopefully something better comes along. We’ll have alot more balance by sept 7 man don’t worry

We were in Indy for that game and I remember right when they lined up and I leaned over and said to my father there is zero way this can work the snapper can't stop 2 guys so one rusher will just be as quick as the snap to make the tackle and I think it actually turned out the snapper had no chance at blocking either of them without a guard on either side.Still one of the most mind-boggling things I've seen not just in the NFL but in ALL sports at ANY level. starters: Campbell / Wilson / Bradbury / Onwenu / Moses
Backup LT: Lowe or Bryant
Backup LG: Wallace or Brown
Backup C: Brown or Wilson
Backup RG: Brown
Backup RT: Bryant or Lowe or Onwenu
That's an easy answer. Look at Ross' post and tell me where we stand if Brown gets hurt at Wednesday's practice? LOL I actually have to worry about Ben freaking Brown getting hurt. Why would you be freaking out over a 4th guard...2 weeks before the season starts?
Vrabel values WR's he reads this board: he knows how I personally value WR's and will field 53 if I have to.This makes Bourne not being IR-DTR an even bigger head scratcher.
What happens if anybody gets hurt? **** happens. We need to have a backup to the backup on day 1 just because the backup might get hurt and then we need the backup’s backup? That's an easy answer. I know you watched the revolving door at OL last year and somehow you just assume it won't be as bad this year we'll just magically find someone.
