It pains me to say it but the Cowboys documentary was so much better.

  1. 1. They actually went into depth on the rivalries and the 49ers and Bills players had a lot more face time. Loved the amount of time they spent on the 3 NFCG's vs the Niners and all three SBs.

  2. 2. Jerry, and this was a Jerry production, allowed there to be a lot of criticism of him. Jimmy Johnson and his fued was done in depth and he let Johnson have his voice vs the hit piece the Dynnasty was. I have my issues with Bill but it was ridiculous.

  3. 3. They didn't gloss over the controversial things like Erik Williams car crash, Ivin's drug charges Emmit's holdout, etc. The Dynasty didn't gloss over them either but Bob tried to cover his ass.
They did leave out both Leon Lett gaffs which honestly those have been killed at this point so I didn't have an issue with it.

I do hope Bob and Bill watch it. Not that I think it will mend fences esepecially with Bill's last salvo being so recent but it took Jimmy Johnson 30 years to get into the Cowboys ring of honor. Bill and Bob don't have 30 years. Again I have my issues with Bill but he belongs in the HOF.

I've always thought Barry Switzer as a bafoon. I haven't completely changed my mind but there were things I didn't know which made me more empathetic towards him and I was surprised by the players who came to his defense.

I thought most everyone came out looking pretty good in this (Emmitt, Troy, 88, Jerry, Jimmy, Barry). I'm sure Cowboys fans have their gripes but I agree I thought it was better show than ours.

My biggest take away is that Emmitt is the man not that I didn't know that.

And the final episode definitely makes me pray it doesn't take 30 years for our guys to put things behind them. Not that it's not on both parties but it's on Kraft to make sure he keeps things here open because it's not like Bill can invite himself back. I suspect even if it's for show that Kraft will do it.

I'm still 1/2way through but loved how Jerry gave Jimmy carte blanche to speak his peace was great. Bob was too insecure to have allowed that. Jerry doesn't care. The man was held at gunpoint over oil deeds and told them to F off. Jimmy's issues with him pale in comparison

Barry was Pete Carroll with more talent and a better manager of people.

There's a reason for that.

The Cowboys dynasty was 30 years ago. All the key player have moved on and come to piece with what happened and wanted to celebrate a golden run. Even opponents who hated them at the time have mellowed with age and everyone just wants to celebrate the past.

We did our big retrospective on the dynasty within like 3 months of Belichick being fired and like a year after Brady left the league for good. The hard feelings were still there and there just hasn't been time for people to be nostalgic and settle down to celebrate it yet.

I guarantee you that a 1999 documentary on the Cowboys would have been a total **** show with Jones and Johnson and all the players stuck in the middle and half the NFL hating their guts. Kraft never should have made something like this so soon.

I was reading last week that Jeeerah doesn't care about super bowls as much as he does about publicity and filling seats. The piece had to do with the ongoing salary dispute with Micah Parsons. Jeeerah like the fact that the girls were always in the news. Reminds me of jerramy jacobs position with the bruins.

There will never be a reconciliation between BB and The Scatback IMHO. I’ve said it before here and will say it again. Kraft is a small insecure man whose focus is on validation from everyone. He’s looking for that from the “NFL community” in the following form:

I’m not sure he’s getting it while he’s still breathing.

He wants BB to kiss his ass and tell everyone how important he was in their success on the field. BB is too proud/arrogant/insecure himself to do that and the reality is that it isn’t true, The Scatback took care of the franchise and did a very good job as the chairman of the finance committee and with Jones and Bowlen he was instrumental in the television deals but BB ran the football operation and he isn’t conceding credit for that to Kraft and definitely not to The Nebbish.

i can't see it waxy.. i turned off signatures a long time ago
Imagine there’s no owner, it’s easy if you try, no cap above us, no marketing to buy, imagine all the players just lining up to play… ah.

Imagine there’s no org chart, it isn’t hard to do, no consultants or cap guys, and no owner's son too, imagine all the teams with one direct vision, too.

You may say I’m a schemer, but I’m not the only one, when we had our best years in New England, we had fewer people and more fun.

Just watched E8...

Hope Bob and Bill come to their senses like Jerry and Jimmy did.

Thought I read that they are doing a similar docuseries on the Chiefs. That’s going to be lame.

A documentary about the 90s Cowboys was going to be far more interesting than a documentary about any other team. From Jeriah and his ego and fights with Jimmy Johnson to all the White House stuff (and not the one in DC) to the Herschel Walker trade and so on. The drama in Texas was far greater than anything in New England the last six years.

I don't think so

Forget about SB36-39..That's like watching Bridget Jones 1, 2 and 3.

Spygate
Gronk v Bill
AH
Deflategate
Tom v the NFL
Tom v Bill
Bob v Bill

The amount of **** that has gone one with this team since 2007 is insane.

That white house stuff was wild

Over a much wider timeline but the AH thing trumps anything.

That wasn't the Beatles. That was post-Beatles John Lennon.

Spygate and Deflategate played out in real time in the media. There is very little that any of the documentaries have revealed that we didn’t know already. Same with Tom vs Bill to a certain extent. But only Tom and Bill were inches last six years.
