Is there a chance White gets traded

I don’t think he’s an Edge/LB think he’s a 4/3 defensive end. And I think they will scheme him in that role.

I think his best spot is as a pass rushing DT. He's a little undersized vs the run there though. On the End/Edge I don't think he's quite the pass rusher as on the inside and though he's not undersized he's still average vs the run but a little better than at DT.

I think it's on him to figure out his place in this D and I think he will. I suspect he and Tonga will rotate between pass and rush downs and that he will also get some added reps on the edge at times too. The better he does the more he'll stay on the field and they'll start moving him all over and making him a weapon otherwise he'll stay duo player with Tonga.

Think of it this way..

Hes on his 3rd defense in 3 years but he's also played 1350 career snaps, been in 3 training camps, had 100+ practices, and ~40 regular and preseason games combined.

How long does it take for a player who has talent, skill, and solid technique take to develop?

Some players develop faster than others. We all should know that the right coaching can develop players who have physical tools. We all saw that with the pickups during BBs years from Vrabel to Ninko to Jon Jones to Edelman.

Unless a player has the mental fortitude of a 13 year old brat (Mac Jones), give players who have physical traits and willingness to be coached hard the time to develop.

Correct. ....and I'll trust Vrabel and his coaches to determine if the player has an upside on this defense. Just like BB saw in Nink, etc.

If White is gone, we'll know the answer.

I don't get all the hand-wringing over Keion White... He was better in year two than he was in year 1... don't understand why everyone is all hot under the collar to trade him... maybe someone can explain this to me...

i think he is the prototypical size to play DE 6'5, 285lbs ... Comparatively he's the same size as Willie McGinest & Deatrich Wise... he does carry 20 pounds on Chandler Jones... is bigger than both Rob Ninkovich & John Simon... i dunno, does he need to lose 15 pounds? boost his speed? Can he be better? sure, every player can ... what he does need to do is put it all together this year, build on his successes in his second year...

would I trade him? No. I don't think we can find a replacement who is better than him at this time...

If we do trade him, who is his replacement?
If White isn't developing well enough to do all we hoped for, then the answer is to add another player. White is certainly an asset, and one that is getting better.

This has been a very bad team. Literally everyone should be available for the right price. Can White command the same return as Maye or Gonzales ? No. But I’d welcome any and all trades that lead to winning. GM’s phone should have no blocked called.
Yep. Agreed. The only players who should be considered un-tradeable are Maye, Gonzalez and probably Henderson. But obviously it has to be the right price.

A tweener with limited production but smoldering with attitude that slipped to the second round? Okay, how about a seventh-rounder?

If Wolfie browbeats the other team, which Whitesock Pennyloafer is loathe to do, maybe that could be elevated by a round or two.

We're stuck with the grumpy tweener.

Maybe Barmore, too, if health looks good

In this defense, which is much more attacking in nature than the bend dont break approach having multiple guys to trot out there is an asset.

Specifically you send him out into the second quarter and later in specific situations where his "one move" the bull rush is more apt to work because the T or G is less fresh than when the game starts. And if he doesnt develop further you can explore trade or release after this season.

The team is already paper thin even as a lower/middle tier club - why try to shave more molecules off it now?

I think his best spot is as a pass rushing DT.
Bingo. Cause his bear hugging of hulking, athletic OTs gets no where. But the fatties in the middle with the limited length and less athleticism? Just what Mr Clean ordered.

The Rams have had undersized DTs since before Aaron Donald. I loved Kobie Turner in the draft a few years ago, who's blossomed as an undersized DT for them. He was 6'2" 280 coming out Wake Forest.

I think that could work if he put 10-15 pounds on. Use him in a 5 technique.

If the reports of Barmore rounding into form are true, I really don't want to trade him. A 2023 Barmore might be top 10 at his position.

No way would I get rid of Barmore. Why on earth would they start getting rid of their best players?

I don’t agree. A year ago that would make sense, now they have a core of players to build around. I wouldn’t start trading those for unknowns/ draft picks who could take years to develop. The better approach would be to play out the season, see who fits long term and who doesn’t, and continue to build from there. Having a fire sale of everyone but a few guys simply to add draft picks makes no sense at all.

The Truman Jones Show.

But he makes an excellent pirate for the Halloween party. Bald head, gold hoop earring. Menacing appearance.

So there's that going for Mr White.

But the Giants handled him really quite easily. Didn't even notice him.

And weren't those the backups?

the giants were playing for pay as well... still tied with 5 sacks, had 16 qb hits, 5 batted passes last year... we will see what happens on tuesday...
