I feel encouraged that the Pats are looking at the possibility of a trade for Hendricks as it makes me feel that we may be closer to genuine contention than I was tracking.

Can’t help but feel that Dallas and the Bengals are a cautionary tale about minding cap space. With the cost of WR and pass rushers exploding, I’m worried about spending a ton on an aging player with so many young players on the roster I’m excited about.

I think the Bengals are a potentially difficult trade partner as their need to free up cap space will mean they aren’t likely to take a contract like Duggars as part of the deal

1) CIN wants and needs a high draft pick, and will likely get one from someone, at least a 3rd.
2) I don't see ANY reason to dump White. He is part of the present and the future.
3) I don't them considering it a plus for us to add Dugger. Dugger's value isn't more than a 6th. at most.
A trade is both sides giving up something. What are you proposing to give up? It looks like you are not giving up anything so there will not be a trade. You don't want to trade for Hendrickson?

I would give up K White and Dugger for Trey
I would not include White and a 1st in the deal
Duggers salary going out has to be part of the deal

Who do you think is going to blink first -Trey or the Bengals? I'm going to go with Trey.

You have to consider what it would cost to sign Hendrickson to a long term contract.

Hendrickson is due to make $16 million this year. The Bengals, we’ve heard, have offered roughly $28 million per year. Whatever the amount (and, as importantly, the structure), he wants more.

A team coming off a 4-13 season is not one that should be looking to sign 31-year players to this type of contract.
That kind of deal is for genuine super bowl contenders that went to the playoffs the previous season.

If the Patriots are to trade for a player, it should be an offensive lineman.
Funny you say that. Commanders were 4-13 in 2023. You think if they traded for Hendrickson in that offseason maybe they actually get by the Eagles and go to the SB last year? Multiple year turnarounds are a thing of the past for well run organizations who find their QB.

I would give them a 2nd and include Dugger if they wish.

They said they want a D player and a draft pick. Duggar and a 2nd is your offer?
I wish that would get it done, but let’s be real. They want a D player and a high pick, so 2nd and a highly overpaid aging Safety gets it done? I think not. If so, I would run to make that deal and sign him to a 2 year extension.

We have to give up something to get Hendrickson. Chaisson had 5 sacks last year, Hendrickson had 17.5, White had 2. Adding Duggar to the trade would be ideal to dump his $10M cap hit and we have enough safeties. Send White, Duggar and a low draft pick. Keep our high draft picks.
I understand. I just feel like white hasn't even tapped into his potential yet. He is worth keeping.. move Jennings instead. Cincy is crazy thinking they are getting a 1st and a player for a 30 year old player. Hendrickson has been phenomenal but he's 30 not 25... send Jennings or Duggar and a 3rd...

Jennings and a 3rd.. possibly a 2nd.. Cincy isn't getting a first from anyone... lets also remember Hendrickson is 30.. not 25..

Jennings and a 3rd would be great, but very unlikely. Even with an increase to a 2nd I don’t think that gets it done. If so I would make those deals in a heartbeat, but I doubt it’s realistic at all

The Cincy defense is bad. Hendrickson is their unquestionable best player. Getting Jennings or Dugger and a 3rd would suffice. Cincy knows they are not getting a 1st from anyone. Then I heard today on ESPN that Cincy and Henderson supposedly agreed on everything except guaranteed money.. he's not going anywhere if that's so..

For Parsons you won’t get a Parosns player in next draft I do that all day.
Parsons is a more realistic feat.. due to his age and our cap room. Sure do a 1st, a 3rd and Jennings and Dugger for Parsons.. throw in Polk too..

This sentence, right here, tells you everything you need to know about who's running the show, and what their jobs are.

Elliot Wolf's job is to answer phones and do media.
I'm not so much worried about job responsibilities as I am about the players on the team.
