No team is throwing a ton of 30+ passes. The vast majority of passes in the NFL are short passes, that’s what the league has evolved to.

IMO Baker is gone

Baker and Polk gone is crazy.

That Draft aside from Maye was awful.
Makes me wonder did Vrabel and the people he brought in save this draft or did Wolf help equally with the picks?
But I agree, I don’t know if Baker isn’t running the right routes or Dobbs is just terrible.

But Chism for instance has seized his opportunity,

I seriously doubt it. Another team would have to cut a guy who made their team, spend all camp with them and knows their system to pick up a guy we think isn’t worth a bag of balls.

You're not wrong that he's a journeyman and if we had a stellar WR room, he probably doesn't make the team. But we don't, so he will.

Potentially, I think Baker has more upside than Polk.

Polk isn’t ideal for our offensive scheme nor is he for most innovative offensive systems today.

Missing on Mcconkey is still insane.

He shouldn’t be playing ahead of Boutte or Williams. I’m not loving a 32 year old WR5, and why keep him instead of Bourne?

So, you think that with $60M is open cap money, Dobbs was the very best choice as a backup QB? SF fans and boards believe that their two backups are both better than Dobbs.

You and I disagree. I think that it bothered Maye that Milton was drafted last year. And, yes, I think he was bothered by all the talk of Milton being a good backup, and even more bothered that Milton might be as good as he was in the future.

I do indeed think that a better backup or even a 7th round draftee would have been a distraction to Maye, and the media. Milton staying would also been a distraction for some fans.

Vrabel did the right thing in not using more resources on better backup QB's.
