Last year the fanboys shat on me when I *****ed and moaned that they looked like **** in the preseason and I said preseason matters bc it very often is a reflection of the regular season in terms of overall operation, penalties, etc. Dumbass fanboys said preseason does not matter. Guess what, I was 100% correct even though the footie pajama Kraft/Mayo fanboys (yes, we had Mayo fanboys who refused any criticism of him) doth protest.
Well, it's night and day this pre season. It's amazing what a competent coach can do. Things are looking up and preseason should carry over into the regular season. There should be way fewer pre snap penalties and oline infractions....resulting in far fewer 1st and 15s and 1st and 20s. I like what I see. Go Pats.

So, you think that with $60M is open cap money, Dobbs was the very best choice as a backup QB? SF fans and boards believe that their two backups are both better than Dobbs.

You and I disagree. I think that it bothered Maye that Milton was drafted last year. And, yes, I think he was bothered by all the talk of Milton being a good backup, and even more bothered that Milton might be as good as he was in the future.

I do indeed think that a better backup or even a 7th round draftee would have been a distraction to Maye, and the media. Milton staying would also been a distraction for some fans.

LET'S BE CLEAR
Vrabel did the right thing in not using more resources on better backup QB's.
IMO talent should always win out over potential for hurt feelings. Now we can argue about Milton’s talent level but last year’s Buffalo game should have put away doubts about Milton’s talent to rest
Dobbs is smart, level headed and calm and that is good. But why can’t a qb coach serve as mentor?

Aside from the Chism deep pass, I thought Josh McDaniels was pretty conservative tonight. Would like to see more downfield ball.

I think you can kiss the long ball goodbye for a while. Passes to Henderson and Douglas are going to be the bread and butter of this pass offense

Some here don't even think Hollins is making the team, another idiot thinks Chism is a waste of a roster spot.

Hollins, Diggs, Pop and Williams are locks and Boutte and Chism are probably favourites to fill out the roster. Baker's job will depend on how his ST reps are valued. Everyone else is on the outside looking in (although props to Jiles tonight).

IMO Baker is gone
