Hollins As A Special Teamer

Wanted has nothing to do with it now. I'm just trying to pick the 5 best for the team based on what I've seen at camp.

Josh/Vrabel's opinion on guys like Hollins, Bourne, and even Polk can/will vary from what we think we see but I'm just trying to make my best guess based on what we're seeing now.

I only bring up Bourne and Polk because they are hurt and it's easy for us to write them off but Vrabel and Josh are going to have to make decisions with whatever info they have on them.

Anyway back to Hollins, Josh obviously has his reasons for bringing him in and it's quite possible others haven't done enough to overcome those reasons but to pretend like it's still February and ignore what's gone on in camp is silly. I'm going to get it wrong plenty but from what I've seen in camp Hollins is not top 5.

While Hollins is a "Josh Guy" keep in mind Vrabel has ties to him as well via Arthur Smith.

Big stretch. A coach who used to coach for Vrabel once coached Hollins and made a jet recommendation after he played 345 snaps and made 18 catches while Arthur was getting fired?
Is that like some guy I once knew recommending the airport Sheraton because while there was no breakfast and the bed wasn’t clean, it was close to the airport?

FWIW Hollins guarantee is $3.5M, not much in NFL money
He is however an excellent blocker, this is a team we can expect will be running more than passing if things go well.

He doesn’t even play a lot of special teams, 22% last year and isn’t particularly good at it.

It appears the fans on this board want WRs who don’t catch passes very frequently for their playing time because we think they are good guys and it’s not their fault they are on their 5th team in 5 years, those other 4 teams just didn’t know what they had.

Right now the Bills WR depth chart include Keon Coleman, Elijah Moore, Josh Palmer Khalil Shakur Curtis Samuel and lavishes shenault.
I wonder why if his 31 catches in 721 snaps was actually good because he can block and has intangibles, they didn’t want him back?

He played 721 snaps, and they said sayonara but we are calling those 721 proof he is a “real pro” and deserves a roster spot, when the Bills WR room is worse than ours.

Why didn’t the Bills want him back after seeing this purported excellent blocking for 2/3 of their snaps?

IMO Hollins best attribute is his wackiness with not wearing shoes. Oh…and wearing strange clothes. I think players laugh at him / with him…it helps relieve tension and keeps the team loose.

He'll make more big catches and tackle guys than big shots... he'll also mash more guys as a blocker than anyone.
This guy isn't going anywhere IMHFO.

Hollins caught a TD from Maye today. Hollins knows the offense that Maye is learning. Hollins is passing on his experience to Williams and maybe Chism.

Bourne is a goner. You can't change the culture of the WR room keeping the same has beens and never was. Polk and Baker are taking up space. Some will argue about all their potential and all that.
