OT: Josh Simmons steal of draft

Many of us wanted Campbell.

Many of us wanted us to move down to 8- 10 or so and pick the BTA.

Many of us wanted us to move down to 15-10 and draft a franchise OT.
==============
As time went on, many switched from Plan 2 to Plan 1 when no trade seemed likely.

No one outside of the staff knows how hard we tried to trade and what, if anything, we were offered.
==========
In the end, most of us celebrated the fact that we likely got the best LT in the draft, and at least our 2025 LT starter.
The Pat's biggest need was LT.

There were very few if none in FA to be had. So, that left NE one sensible avenue to aquire a franchise LT. The draft.

Simmons is already better than Campbell and the their rookie seasons are not even in the books.

By what metric are you using? Because by all the things I saw, heard and read there was one mistake by Campbell and Wilson. One. Outside of that he was a beast out there.

A trade down to 15-20 would have put Simmons in play and allowed for lots more draft capital in the 26 draft
What if Wolfe and Groh drafted a 2026 TE with bad eye sight?

He’s using the hater metric, Campbell had an 85 grade from Friday and Simmons was a 65, Campbell outplayed Simmons by a mile.

What you say to that Triumph, come on surprise us and admit that you were wrong.

The trade was Polk and Baker for McConkey. Still a huge whiff.

I was almost always in favor of trading down for more picks but at some point the talent drops off so trading down is a mistake. McConkey is an example. The Pats had offers to trade down for the Henderson pick and took the pick instead of trading.
If that had been the case, it would have been a good gamble (wouldn't have paid off, but still).

However they did not trade for additional picks. They moved down in the 2nd to move up in the 4th. Two picks for two picks.

So it's exponentially worse than what you already believed.

Henderson is the steal of the draft
Define “steal”. He was drafted where he was projected to be drafted and generally considered a top 3 RB in his class.

What you say to that Triumph, come on surprise us and admit that you were wrong.

That will never happen. No amount of proof will ever get Triumph to stop hating.

He's not the only one. This is place is full of guys itching to say "told you so".

Ouch. That is worse. What a clusterf!ck. Probably trying to be smarter than everyone else instead of making the obvious pick.

True. Then again with Ladd maybe we win five games and Mayo is still our coach.

At this point I wouldn't change anything that led us to where we are right now with Vrabel and Maye.

Hasn't this this thread run it course, or is it just here to show just how ridiculous a "hot take" can be or how many times we can say the same thing over and over again.

How about fingernail length. Campbell could grow his fingernails really long like some women do and become an all-pro tackle.
Truth.

Do those glue on ones hold up good?

How can I be wrong when I have backed Campbell as the best pick for NE?

How can I conclude that Simmons is better when he only had 10 snaps last Saturday and really did nothing of significance?

Why would I want the Pats to take Simmons at 4th when he is already damaged goods? I already wondered out loud if Simmons would wear a left knee brace this season.

Im more concerned about MM.

Mac Maye. I expected to hear and see about a guy slightly more polished than this.
