I expect we'll see CB as another area where they'll look to sign some other teams roster cuts, especially after Week 1.

In an alternate universe of course, the Patriots picked Travis Hunter with the #1 pick and are looking secure at both CB and WR.

Gotta wonder how Browns fans feel knowing that they could have had Sanders throwing to his favorite WR had they not traded their pick.

That should've been OUR trade

So both players suck? Even Samuel who was a NFL top 100 player last season?? Douglas who was a pro bowl player?
Samuel is injured. Douglas did decline last year, but wouldn’t doubt he’s also wanting to skip most of camp at his age.

Samuel was not a top 100 player.*
Why don’t you tell me what they are not on a team.

* no matter whether he made some list or not

Do you think that this6th corner is on the current roster? I would 100% agree with acquiring a corner but I would prefer that he be better than Bolden or Epps. Perhaps battle is a reasonable choice.

DB heavy to me might mean carrying 5 safeties, one or two of which can play nickel or dime.
We will play more corners snaps than safety snaps. Vrabels last season in Tenn the corners averaged over 3.5 per snap and that is consistent with his whole time there.
The number of safeties is more about special teams play (and is Schooler truly a safety) than whether you keep a s or a cb.
We have to have 6 corners ready to go, and hopefully without the PS.

I think it’s probably Bolden, could be Battle or even Minor (but I doubt it)
I wouldn’t mind a vet brought in.

Overall I feel good about the secondary, I think some of the young back ups will come through with good coaching.

I think they'll look fine if they have one of Gonzo/Davis on the field, they should be fine. Both on the field, great. Both off the field then it's a little rough. I feel like the secondary on Friday got lucky quite a few times with bad passes/drops.

But that's expected when your #1/2 are both out.

My only problem with the secondary is that it feels that Gonzo and Carlton are going to be living with small problems for awhile.

Davis never played a full season, for example, and Gonzo has had Hamstrings issues ever since he entered the NFL, IIRC, although I couldnt find much stats of his in his NCAA career.

NFW that Bolden should still be considered ahead of Battle now.

Bolden played low single digit snaps on defense Friday night. Unless he's hurt that tells everything that needs to be known. He's not even worthy of 4th quarter snaps in a preseason game.

Sixth corner is a likely spot for a trade or FA pickup.

Someone like Jennings should have trade value. Maybe Lowe too if he gets on the field. Some team would see him as an option for swing tackle.

Your right... I said this myself in a earlier post. Hamstrings are things that have to be managed.. 17 game schedule, a week 14 bye this season.. if we see gonzo not being his all pro self at times this season then we know why.. Davis a great player as well however knock on him has been injury. Fortunately we seem to have some quality depth in DJ James and Austin.

Surely you're not claiming that Austin & Jones, outside of one deep pass break-up each, had overall quality performances, are you?
They have been doing it all off season/camp Cap.. how you practice is how you play typically... they have carved out roles in the secondary for themselves at the least.. not many teams in the league can say they have quality depth at CB.. we can.. depending on Davis abilities to stay on the feild this season if he's missing games.. and DJ James or Austin continue to play well I think Vrabel moves off Davis in the off-season.. IMO
