Nor am I.
The difference is I expect the most likely and you are resisting it.
I'm not resisting it all. I've stated my thoughts several times. I think he will have a good pre-season and it will be at risk to make it to the PS if we put him on waivers. If that's resisting it, then I guess I'm guilty as charged.

Well being a long shot also makes you a long shot to have another team cut a player off their 53 to get you when you haven’t been with them and don’t know the system.
If he couldn’t win a job in practice for 6 weeks, in the system he knows where the coaches all know him, why would another team cut a guy to get him? It’s not like he’s behind a log jammed superstar WR room.
That’s why you rarely ever see an UDFA claimed on waiver at cut down.

I’d say his odds are much longer to have a team claim him on waivers sight unseen than to make the team he spent all of camp with.

Teams can get hit by the injury bug, sometimes they get bit with multiple injuries at the same position. Maybe a team that brought him in for a top 30 visit, or one those that competed with us to sign him get hit with a couple of injuries at WR and they don't like their depth options. They're not just going to forget about the scouting work they did on Chism pre-draft. If he doesn't make the team, I hope you're right and we can get him on our PS.

I love the optimism on Chism, BUT it really isn't likely for him to make another team's 53 man roster if he doesn't make it here. Think about it. Every other team in the league supposedly started with a better WR room than we did. Right? AND then in the off season between FA, the draft, and UDFA's were looking to upgrade that room. They also started camp with 10-12 WR's about 8 serious contenders and 2-4 camp bodies so you don't wear people out. And you end up with 5-7 filling out your room and ST's. You then invest over 2 months investing in all these guys teaching them your offense and practice time and reps in your system and language.

I right all this to explain that when it comes to those last guys on the WR roster bubble and filling in the PS. MOST of the time teams will keep those rosterbubble and PS guy who come from their own systems. It just makes sense.

I find it hard to believe that barring an injury Chism makes the 53. I find it HIGHLY likely that they will want him back for our PS. I DON'T see the possibility of another team offering him a spot on their 53. But more likely he could join another team's PS if he thinks he has a better shot at getting to their 53 later this year or next.

If you caught some of the clips of the Thursday preseason games, you saw back up QB's looking like stars and back up WR making plays. Hopefully we will see Chism and the others make some too. BUT everybody's got their "Chism" on their team, who is in a similar position and THEIR fans are also needlessly worried about losing them for their PS.

Is Chism that demonstrably better that they wouldn't rather take a guy who has been with them for 2 or 3 months, knows the offense, coaches and the team character already than to take a new guy who has to learn the whole thing all over.

The only way I see Chism makes this roster is if he can prove he is the best PR on the team. Me I'm hoping for Henderson to be the guy

Couldn’t disagree more Ken. Chism can play on every special teams unit other than field goals, whereas Polk, Baker, and Bourne don’t play on any, he fits the Welker/Edelman slot role perfectly, and he’s a better football player than any of the guys he’s up against for the final WR spots. They are batshit crazy if they let him go.

Chism will have more receptions in his first 3 games than Polk and Baker had combined all last season. And both of those guys will clear waivers.

Why didn’t you answer my question?
Because I want Chism to answer it...I already Scouted him. I have the WR eyes around here.

You don't know that I'm sure McDaniels knows more.

I think one thing that maybe gets overlooked is how important the slot is in McDs offense. If Pop were to miss time, would McD prefer a slot backup like Chism giving him more value, or would he run Diggs/Williams out of the slot. I think that is a consideration to keep Chism on the 53.

Bro I'm with you 100% after BB made us suffer through those WR drafts... mostly choosing the wrong ones. I feel like Vrabel and his guys have figured it out.

So you have t been to camp, you made up that he looks faster than his time in camp?

That is right, Kupp and Chism are similar but Chism is slower than Kupp. Welker's numbers were worse than Chism's.

Let's be honest about it. Chism is not Edelman. Julian was an athletic stud.
And he destroyed Kupp's records.

Pass hit Baker in the hands.

Efton Chism is Julian Edelman quick: that will not keep him on our PS. I think he makes it; when he catches 7 passes tonight the doubters will be on board. Let me hold on to my front seat.

He did indeed catch a few tonight; don't know if it was 7 however...

He will certainly Not be sight un-seen.

Still early I know, but Vrabel's first draft as a Patriot seems so much better than what we have had for the last few years put together

I think the interesting thing with chism is he has a role on this team. I feel he makes the team and continues to develop on the practice squad.
No need to expose him there now twin: he's clearly better than Polk and Baker already who are both Garbage.
