these labels are meaning less. 3rd down back means nothing.
whats a big play situation? Henderson creates big plays.
opposition. matchups. score. will dictate when Henderson is on the field. will vary game to game. I expect given health, he will be on the field for between 35 and 55% on that games snaps

He will split it.

Like Woodhead with Ridley or BJGE
Like White with Blount
Like Lewis with Blount (Lewis is the best example)

Stevenson will get more touches because he will be playing mostly on downs with a higher run proportion and Henderson will be playing on downs with a higher pass proportion.

Both will be very effective.

Yup, 17 games is a very long haul for position players who take a lot of punishment.

For what it’s worth, havn’t seen a fantasy ranking site where Henderson isn’t above Stevenson in projections for their production.

Rham is now on the trade block. As much as I hate that contract he got, he should stay. If he stays, he should have a bounce back season. But he's not going to be mistaken for Derrick Henry.

Henderson is going to get a lot of touches.

He’s going to be RB1, he will get the most snaps over the season.
Probably. Obviously, they are going to try to limit his carries and give him a 60/40 split. Maybe 50/50. But situational football will prevail. Hurry up offense, 2 minute drill, close game going into the 4th quarter or simply just playing from behind needing an extra receiver or holding a lsmall lead where pass protection is life and death. Who know what is actually playing time is going to be by seasons end?

Cook played 48% of the Bills offensive snaps last year
Yes. But he's been there "Go To" RB is most situations as the other ones are not the dominating kind. And, they needed to keep his wear and tear down because he is such a weapon for them, hence his reduced percentage of his workload.

Where did you hear he is on the trade block?

Isn’t that the point you were arguing against? That his small size keeps him from being an every down back?

Hopefully that's not true, because it would mean that the Pats would enter the season with Henderson, Antonio Gibson, Lan Larison, and either Terrell Jennings or JaMycal Hasty as the team's running backs. Uggh. Neither of those last two should be on the roster, and neither can be counted upon to fill in when the inevitable injury occurs.

Not a recipe for success when you want to run the ball to alleviate pressure on the passing game (with its questionable OL and WR corps).

He’s gonna be a beast for us and probably our best offensive piece.

Officially no. Unofficially yes. HCs have a thing about young RBs being on a pitch count in year 1. And I get why they tend to do that. But he is clearly our best RB already. And frankly the idea of a pitch count never made a ton of sense to me. RBs are already pure muscle by the time they get to the NFL. The idea they will be better equipped to take a pounding in year 2 never made a lot of sense.

I was looking at Henderson vs The Bills every down RB Cook Vs Christian McCaffrey. All 3 are 5'11". Henderson is listed at 202lbs, Cook at 190 lbs, and McCaffrey at 210 lbs. Henderson 40 Time 4.43, Cook 4.42, McCaffrey 4.48. If Cook can be The Bills every down RB at 190 lbs, Henderson could. That being said, and for the same thing they shouldn't have done with McCaffrey, Henderson should be used as a 3rd Down/Special Weapon RB/WR. I'd use Stevenson/Gibson as the "Power Backs" this Season, then draft a 1st and 2nd down RB high in next year's draft. If they use him properly (and barring injury), Henderson could be a terror to the rest of the NFL for quite a long time.
At this time there is no downside to having Henderson on the field.

He blocks well, he can rush the ball and he is a receiving option. I read that Mickey D has been getting Henderson out in space in practice and throwing him the ball.

The bottom line is if Henderson makes positive plays out there, he will see more playing time.

Hope he breaks off some Saquon Barkley Big TD runs.

In 2024, Cook produced 1009 rush yards, 258 pass yards and 18 TDs.

Id say he made the most of his snap counts.
