I don't think so.

Think what you want but the guy is clearly expected to be the top IOL backup at all 3 spots.
I mean look at the competition? Who else would you have subbing in with the 1s? They drafted him in the 3rd round at a position with no depth of course they are going to push him to get ready.

Im not sure what you think teams do with rookies, they don’t sit them out for a few weeks to get adjusted.

My sister has 5 French Bulldogs. Chaos.

When I was a kid, we had 3 dogs and 13! cats at one point. Friends of my parents had a stray cat who would roam their property and she kept having babies, so we kept taking them in. Eventually, we were able to catch momma in a have-a-heart trap and had her spayed. Talk about chaos. That was before overdevelopment took away the feeding habitats for coyotes, so most of the cats would chill outside for the entire day.

Is OL Coach Doug Marrone doing a Scar with D Jacobs?? It's said Jacobs have very long arms and more thank looks the part. Is Marrone the OL Coach that puts him over the Top. Jacobs seem well ahead of the overdrafted Caedan Wallace; I don't know how i feel about that.

Should not feel anything about it. Ignore the sunk cost. To do anything but ignore it is a fallacy.

I see his running with STs as very telling, and what it’s telling is that they’re looking for a path to keep him on the roster.

They've had about a half dozen second day picks for the OL the past few years, and none were lining up with the #1' from day one of training camp.

You would say it's because they suck, and that's what my point is.

However you slice it, our past several drafts prior to this year have been bad to terrible. Now can some of these OL develop with competent coaching, that remains to be seen. I certainly wouldn’t make definitive assertions based on 2 days of unpadded practice however.

The last 4 2nd and 3rd round picks were
Wallace, who I’m pretty sure was with the 1s at the start of camp last year, the favorite at LT.
Cajuste and Garcia who were both injured.
Thuney who started from day 1.

I’m not sure what argument you are trying to make. We drafted an IOL in the 3rd round who projects to be the primary IOL backup at all 3 spots and could compete to start. He is subbing in with the 1s. That is literally exactly what would be expected.
What are you trying to argue by misrepresenting facts and arguing what you think I would say? I’m right here you don’t have to guess at what I would say, so you should refrain from using that weak passive aggressive approach.

Of course it's not a definitive assertion, but if you watch how rookies line up the first week of camp there is a strong correlation between that and how the coaching staff approaches their rookie year.

Jacobs started 13 games last year. It’s not uncommon for a new coaching staff to slot players at the beginning of camp based upon last year, but he certainly hast earned anything.
At this stage it doesn’t matter who’s playing with which group, everyone is being evaluated. Who else would you sub in for Moses? It’s not like we have a competitive group of OTs fighting to take Moses job.
Looks like they are getting a look at Wallace at G. Things that happen in the first week of camp with a new coaching staff aren’t permanent.
It actually sounds more promising for Wallace because they know he will be here and they are working on evaluating his versatility. If he can play 3-4 spots along the line he is more valuable.

Every played drafted in the first 3 rounds at least, has their rookie year approached as they are fighting for a starting job or primary back up role.
No player (qb aside) drafted in the first 3 rounds comes to camp with expectations of not contributing or no chance to compete for a job, unless they are injured.
You seem to be making a normal occurrence out to be something unique and special.
If they viewed him as inferior to any of the other flotsam and jetsom we have as backup IOL right now they wouldn’t have drafted him. He is where any IOL we drafted in round 3 would be.

Your point is key, everyone is being evaluated. It’s 2 days of unpadded practice with an entirely new coaching staff. Who cares where they lineup and with what group. As we get into the dog days og camp and pre-season, the situation will start to crystallize. People need to relax, the sky isn’t falling and we should have confidence Vrabel and staff will figure it out. There are always cuts to come, trade possibilities, and we still have 60m in cap space.

The 2023 draft was excellent. Gonzo, White, Boutte, Douglas, Sow, and Baringer. Mapu could still emerge. Ryland, NFC Player of the month last year, is a starter in the league too, but Mayo foolishly gave up on the kid.

Fair point, 2023 was a very good one. We got pretty lucky after trading back that Wash took Forbes over Gonzo. One could only guess BB had them rated similar and would take whichever Wash didn’t. Thank God they took Forbes.
