Surprise cuts this camp?

I disagree other than are both short and weigh light
Pop is much faster in a straight line
Welkie is much faster than Pop directionally
Pop has good leg explosion. Welkie had poor leg explosion.

of course, those are numbers and commentary coming out of school. both clearly had worked on their short comings and improved greatly in areas with poor grades.

but imo , not similar at all (other than size)
Feels like you just agreed with me but then say you disagree LOL.

Here’s a few I’m not predicting, but would be feasible as surprises:

Antonio Gibson.
Austin Hooper
Garrett Bradbury
Mack Hollins
Jack Gibbens

Most of these would be a great sign that the young talent is developing.

I'd agree. That is point young talent development I've been trying to make during some of my post. If a veteran is considered expendable that's a great sign for the development.

Tavai and Rhamondre. I'll not likely shed a tear over the loss of either, certainly not over Rhamondre's departure: he's just plain soft, and very much overpaid. I hear Tavai could be really be something. So far, he's pretty close to not much of anything.

Should Tavai remain on the roster he's an asset for the LB depth.. one thing Vrabel mentioned earlier in the offseason was he wanted to make sure the depth was sufficient.. last season the depth was pitiful.

And remember Harry asked for a trade and BB still kept him on the roster, Harry and Tyquan lasted 3.5 years here. Same for Polk people want to write him off.. he's a far better player. Yes, yourself, myself, and our cousins @signbabybrady @Zuma have been Boutte supporters all off season. Boutte has a confidence about him that I like and that you need to have as a wr.. I like Boutte to make this team.. while another veteran wr who's unavailable will be...

If it’s confidence in himself that you’re looking for why aren’t you hyping Baker? He’s the poster child for confidence in himself.

Gibbens is 26, in his third year, so he is he’s the young talent you’re talking about developing. He’s right at the point where developing young talent should be establishing themself. Rookies and second year players are still learning and maturing. Year three is where they really emerge. So it seems to me that cutting Gibbens would be a sign of exactly the opposite of what you say you want, it would be young talent not emerging.

Cutting Tavai and keeping Gibbens would be a good sign young talent is developing.

He signed terrible free agents and drafted guys who could have gone in the 7th round or UDFA ranks. Stop protecting your uncle, I’m sure he’s a nice guy.
I think he did a **** job as well, but I recognize the entire thing was not his fault.

He's not hating, it's "surprise" cut. Polk would not be a surprise cut, Pop would be.

I'm going with Strange and injury related.
Yup. Strange - injury + volume of available free agents in his position = thank you and good luck, Cole.

It's funny how K Boutte gets' no respect for what he did last year. But people were still waiting for Harry and Tyquan to make the year three jump. K Boutte have already done more than both those stiffs in year 2. K Boutte is going be a nice piece with Diggs.

Boutte shies away from contact.

Similar to Tyguan.

Yeah, Gibbins is someone who is not a part of that older group.

Just someone on a cheap short deal that I think would be a surprising cut that’s also feasible. Especially since most are pretty excited about his upside. It’s always possible he’s not the same as he was pre injury.

You are right on that. I was just making a point on depth. It's been an issue specifically with this team. Factor in a 17 game schedule with a week 14 bye this year. Depth will be tested. Guys get knicked up, guys get pulls and strains.. should Tavai make the roster he Factors in as part of the depth with the LBs.

Baker was a rookie that spoke of rookie immaturity. Confidence is what a player believes in himself, and knows what he can do on the field. While some want to just dismiss guys like Boutte i actually like him and believe he has a place on the roster. Even if he doesn't remain here he'll be in the league and will help a team.
