Surprise cuts this camp?

If Chism really becomes a true slot threat in camp it could make pop expendable as a possible trade candidate.
It could, but I remember someone pointing out that they could coexist, since they're not exactly identical players.

They would trade Rham.

I don't see Pop. It would send the wrong message.

Strange has been stealing from Kraft.
With the devalue of RBs, their are only a handful of them that would warrant trade. Mondre isn't one of them, imo.

To me, outright cutting Peppers would be a surprise. That being said, there's a chance that the 49ers come knocking to see if he is available since they cut Odum.

Cutting Douglas would be a surprise if they kept Polk or Baker.

Cutting Hunter Henry would be a surprise.

I know he's a great blocking WR and big red area target.. but if he's not going to be able to contribute, with competition heating up each day.. he may end up becoming expendable if Chism for example continues his upwards trend.

We have Henry and Digss specifically who are great red area receivers themselves.

A guy has to either be beat out or do something horrible to get cut, right? Who beats Rham? Even if he falls behind Henderson and Gibson on the depth chart, I would be shocked if he falls behind a 3rd guy.

What about Bradbury? If he sucks, and Wilson is a fast learner, I could see the team moving on quick.

Tonga is another guy who could turn out to be ass in camp.

Not his fault that Belichick bungled the position and then had Patricia be his OL coach his rookie year.
The pick raised eyebrows brows from the get go.

Sean Mcvay laughed at BB.

blocking TE? I'm cool with that

blocking WR? do we really need a WR? at this point, i'd rather have a catch the damn pass most of the time and get some yard and maybe occasionally a TD WR instead of a blocking WR... ymmv

My biggest surprise cut is Anfernee Jennings. He is one of my binkies, but is kind of redundant with Landry. Jennings has always had other responsibilities over getting to the QB, which he was very adept at in college but not sure he has the juice to compete with Chaisson or Swinson.

I think the front 7 is going to be a strength this year and it hurts my soul that Anfernee is probably not going to be a part of that.

3.9 YPC in 2024 can be duplicated by any JAG and he'd probably fumble less... that's not gonna cut it for someone who just signed a big contract.

Doubt they'll want to be paying all that money to a 3rd guy. After looking at his contract I think a trade for say a 7th will be more probable than a cut. Dead cap hit $6M with a cut.

Yeah Bradbury is a possibility too...

Then they are not “surprise cuts”, duh.

Lol
the inference being these players cut would surprise most, but would not be a surprise to me

Running backs are back in vogue. Rham isn't going anywhere...yet.

Ive seen people say he would be worth trading but I'd be shocked if we got much more than a 6th rounder.

Yeah but a trade would negate a lot of salary cap loss VS cutting him. That was the reason I pointed it out.

The return is actually secondary in a case like this, but I think you're about right. Maybe a 5th.

A Good RB gets 3.9 YPC behind the garbage line that we had. The fumbles were because of Stevenson trying to do too much and defenders were getting free hits.

If the line had been even have decent like it was in 2022, he'd have put up 4.5-5.0. Like he did in 2022.

Wait until injuries hit a few clubs.

Rham is worth something.
