Agree or disagree? The Maye bar is ankle high.

Interesting argument how Daniel Jones and Maye had similar rookie seasons. I'm sure that's why Jones is the floor for Maye.
This Daniel Jones?

Great points LTD. Now he has some OTs.. he'll have the time to go through his progression and not like last season by the time the balls snapped lowe and Jacobs are already on thier backs.. we have some nice weapons heading into the season that Josh will be able creatively incorporate so Drake can take full advantage. Guys like Henry, Pop, Diggs, Boutte, Williams, Henderson also having a work horse back like rham to run between the tackles and get those tough 3,4 yards will also help Drake immensely
Agree with all of this, now I could see Maye having more wins but not looking as dominant as he did at certain times last season.

Allow me to elaborate, Josh will make sure that there are plays and situations for certain players to make that play and Drake has to trust that.

As opposed to Maye running thru defenders for 8 hard yards he may have to throw to pop for 6 and trust Pop to create the extra gains.

Or on a third and 12 instead of Maye having to force the ball in tight coverage to Boutte he may set up a rb screen to Henderson and allow him to create while he gets out the way.

I don’t know how Vrab will feel about Maye lead blocking the Myles Garrets of the world.

He May look a lot more like Clark Kent moving the offense to the next set of downs as opposed to putting on his cape and looking like the Beast we saw in crucial moments last season.

And we know on third and 9 we will see that delayed handoff to one of Stevenson or Henderson.

We may see a flea flicker here or there.

And honestly if Maye looks human with Human stats that means we are winning games and the role players are stepping up.

If he is being Josh Allen ish every other play that to me signals the additions on offense don’t have Drakes trust or are not the justice league but just a bunch of neigborhood watch civilians to Drakes Cape crusading.

Why not just put BUST down as the floor for Maye?

JJ Mcarty = Joe Burrow?

Bo Nix = Brees?

Jayden Daniels = Lamar Jackson? I can sort of buy, but not as Daniels being Washingtons leading rusher like Jackson.

JJ Mcarty = Joe Burrow?...you having a laugh, it is a joke right?

Well put!!!! I welcome it all, creativity, flea flickers, RPO, play action. To your points.. winning is the best stat a QB can have.. Drake and his natural abilities will allow him to make something out if nothing whenever a play breaks down..

Henry like Troy Brown was for Brady is Drake's pressure relief valve.. a big 6'6 target in the middle and in the red zone.

Another thing of note expect to see less 3rd and 9s we were constantly in those last season 3rd and 3 or less this offense will have the capability to be in.. the big plays will come off the running game.. passes out the back field to stress defenses.. just so much to look forward too..

I think Daniel Jones is a good marker for Maye being a bust. His decision making would never develop and he can't stop putting the ball on the ground. That bothers me a lot more than INTs. QB's with big arms sometimes throw INTs, that comes with the territory.

I think having much better coaching this season will help him a lot.

I just really hope a team doesn’t poach Josh as a HC if we have a offensive resurgence.

If that transpires Kraft should open the Wallet way open.

Drake as you mentioned is more compared to Allen for sure.. he had a better rookie season than Allen did.. remember in 2018 Allen looked like a bust..
Yep. Allen was taking a bunch of heat early in his career and I think it would've continued had he played during the Pats dynasty era. The talk died down when they acquired Diggs and the AFC East was his for the taking when Brady, Gronk, Edelman and others left.

Last year did Maye no favors with AVP running the offense... I think this year is when we get a true read on his abilities...
Kraft did him no favors too.

Picked Mayo's name out of hat to look all woke. Was a cheap axx in FA and then his 2 bootlickers botched the draft after picking Maye.

Allen always needed to be developed and Daboll did a fine job there. I believe that the Giants hired Daboll to do the same for Jones.

Allen had all the raw materials - size, arm, mobility, smarts. He just did not play in a Pro style offense at Wyoming.

Whoever came up with the chart obviously doesn’t think highly of Maye.

They've got their knee pads on for Penix though. A floor of Famous Jameis and a ceiling of Justin Herbert??? Two guys whose games have little in common other than both involving a football. Winston has never seen a risk too high to take, Herbert may well be the most risk averse starting QB the past 5 regular seasons. dafuq is with the fool who made these comps

If the ceiling is Lawrence, the scouting dept should be focusing on young college QBs right now.

Maye’s comps before the season were Herbert and Allen. I don’t get Lawrence being the upside.

What a weird way to talk about a players development. Just talking about a players floor and ceiling in a one year window and not giving the player the benefit of what you think his ceiling will be when he's fully developed is just dumb.

Herbert is another perennial loser. Sure hope Maye doesn’t grow up to be a .500 QB with crap results in one post season appearance.

Maye is at least to Lawrence already and I think “QB WL record” is an overrated stat.

Allen needed a clear path in the division which he got after 2019. The NFL in general is very weak right now compared to prior eras. Diggs also helped him immensely. He and his teams would've struggled badly if they were playing in the 2000's -2010's. And imagine if Indy was still in the AFCE? They wouldn't even make the playoffs.

Allen is a fine QB, but it's no coincidence he became a "good QB" when teams such as the Pats, Steelers and Colts who ruled the AFC and lessor teams like the Ravens, occasional Chargers/Broncos for the last 20 years are all gone.

So your bold prediction is Maye will have more than one win!

Am I crazy or Trevor Lawrence is a pretty low ceiling?
That's his ceiling last year - because he was as good as Lawrence last year. If you want to say Lawrence is his floor, then sure. But, I'd say ceiling for year 2 (which is an optimistic projection) is more like Herbert. More than Penix Jr. Because we've seen him making plays like Herbert, so wowing with physical traits, stacking up good stats and winning decently in the regular season, but not being ready to win big games yet is a realistic hope for year 2.
I'll say this - ceiling comp for his year 5 could be Aaron Rogers. If he gets the mental part figured out, and if JMD stays around for 5 years, there's no reason he won't be a top 5 QB.
