Player Signing OT help - Durant coming back

Patriots are bringing back Yasir Durant after he helped win the UFL title and made the All-UFL team.

Durant has played for the DC Defenders of the UFL (United Football League) since 2024. Last season, he started every game at left tackle to help the Defenders to a championship and was named to the All-UFL team.

Sometimes these NFL retreads become solid to good players in the UFL. Definitely worth taking a chance with an All-UFL player. At worst, a solid depth piece, maybe something better. I like the move. There’s been a few UFL to NFL success stories.

So what, you don’t have to be a good athlete to play pro sports, you just need really long arms.

Quick Google so take accuracy with a grain of salt but it appears top ufl QBs still make about 10k less than PS salary.

At least if Lowe makes the roster we know he beat a 7 year pro OT who made the All-UFL team playing LT for the UFL champs. Seems like credible competition.

Or maybe Lowe doesn’t make the roster now.

camp body who has been a street free agent for a while now.
Lowe is bigger, longer and more experienced. he needs better coaching. so does Campbell, Wallace and Bryant.
unless Durant completely surprises, the staff would be better served working with the younger guys

minimum salary in the UFL was 62k... Practice Squad players make 13k a week per otc... so if a guy hangs on the PS for 5 weeks, he's at 65k...

I see a couple reasons to sign him.

Added depth/ camp body & Campbell's back up Lowe must not be, or is not going to be ready to start camp as he hasn't practiced all OTA and minicamp.

I know was just being playful. This signing as I've posted is for depth, and Lowe is still dealing with that shoulder.. anyways back up to the back up...
