You see Gronk and Edelman doing a podcast, and it is clear to me who is carrying the show and who is along for the ride.

In the media, Gronk just doesn’t have the “it” factor, but on the field there was no better TE ever.

The high point of Gronk's media career was his Snow Day commercial. He should have moved on after that classic.

Who cares if he’s a big goof? Maybe that was part of why he was the best tight end, maybe it wasn’t. I bet you cheered for him when he was scoring touchdowns for us.

I go all the way back to Russ Francis and Ben Coates (for the Patriots), and TE's that played since those years (and ones I've looked into before them). IMHO, Gronkowski was either THE BEST TRUE "Do it all" (Blocking and Receiving TE) in NFL history, or no lower then #2. He dominated as both a blocker and receiver, whereas some TE's lit it up as Receivers and some others as Blockers. Gronk excelled at both. He did not have to be taken off the field regardless of what offense or play that was being run.

Gronk's a charismatic guy who isn't all that articulate. So he's fun in small soundbites, but is atrocious when he has to say anything of substance and provide commentary.
