Welkerish and Burkheadish…

Too early, but they have that kind of talent.
Hollins is supposed to be this deep threat however Boutte has a greater YPR%..

Hollins isn’t a deep threat, I have a hard time simply calling him a threat. Good culture guy, plays special teams, his teammates and coaches like him… but if he’s playing max snaps something went terribly wrong at the WR position.

IF Baker or Polk can't beat out that scrub; they'll be bagging groceries soon enough.

Wozzy I'll never be to understand some posters presume him being a lock.. how many times over the years have we seen BB end up cutting a veteran due to unavailability, being outplayed or whatever during a camp. It's happened. We have Williams, Boutte, Chism that are young guys who can make a difference with Drake. Pop as well.

Baker's 4.54 sec 40 yard dash at the Combine is not elite speed. It is JAG speed.

Williams is a 4.40 sec 40 yard dash speed.

True, but Baker is really tall, so his 4.54 speed is actually faster than William's 4.0 speed, because he’s covering so much more ground with his really long legs. He also has really long arms, so they can move him to offensive tackle if he fails at receiver. And the fact that he can’t catch anything shouldn’t be held against him at WR, because he still covers a lot of ground and has long arms.

Elite may have been the wrong word. But for example supposedly Tyquan had elite speed but he couldn’t put it all together.

Guys need to learn how to combine speed with route running

What IS elite speed then? I was of the impression that 4.5 and under was…not that it truly matters…a friend wants to know…

Although I know we are talking about the WR position, I see the potential for some James White-esque numbers from TreVeyon Henderson.

While Rhamondre showed potential in that role, even in 2022 his ypc was closer to 5 rather than the 8-10 that White was good for

And the benefit of a pass catching RB is often seen among the WR corps, and much like a WR who can stretch the field, keeps defenses "honest"

Having a dependable pass catching RB is a game changer

Good question PBP, anything 4.4 and under is considered elite speed. A friend told me.

I agree. White said himself that Henderson has far more speed than he did. Henderson and Gibson will allow thr offense to be more efficient and convert 3rd down more efficiently.

Henderson is going to be much more than a pass catching back. He’s the best back on this team.

Baker is 6'1" tall. That is not really tall. I am taller. Hollins is 6'4" tall, that is tall. I do not know anyone that thinks 6'1" is really tall.

Elite speed for a WR is generally considered to be 4.40 or lower 40 yard sprint. Ideally below 4.40 or 4.3x.
