I guess if you're someone who thinks we're going to win 11 games then it makes sense. I still think we're the least talented overall roster in the NFL and teams like that shouldn't trade 3rd rounders for fliers on guys changing positions in the last year of their contract.

This team is about mid pack in talent *IF* most of these picks and FA work out. I'm of the belief that most if not all of them are going to hit. Just a feeling I have.

Pitts started as a WR before switching to TE. Atlanta used him out wide isolated against a CB, and he wasn't terribly effectively.

I'd keep him at TE, and move him around as a weapon. With Diggs/Williams to stretch the field, Douglas/Chism in the slot, and Henderson out of the backfield, there should be lots of opportunities to create mismatched.

A 3rd would be as high as I would consider for Pitts. We have an extra 4th from Chicago - a 4th plus Austin Hooper might be worth considering.

I've read at least one thing about him this spring which alluded to him "Learning/Getting better"
It seemed like they were saying he was a duma$$, but hey, everyone reads things differently.

But Hollins can easily be replaced by one of the younger WRs.

Trading for Pitts would be an investment you might not give up on as easily. Not that I think those young WRs deserve the benefit but it's part of the puzzle if we were to consider Pitts.

Is Pitts worth that? Probably.

Plus he could just beat out Hooper or something else.

Least talented? That ship has sailed. Honestly I think this team is closer to the middle of the pack than they are the bottom. The question going into next season IMO is what side of the middle they wind up being on

With Pitts it’s weird. His receptions and yards are pretty good (for a tight end) but he’s 6’6 and should be hovering near 10 TDs every year, instead he has 10 in 4 years. There’s talent there but somebody needs to tap into the reason why somebody who’s a physical specimen can’t seem to be the TD machine he should be.

A third round pick for a 6’6 guy who gets 2-4 TDs as a receiver at TE? No

I would say in general that nobody gives up anything higher than a 5th for a guy in the last year of a contract.

Then, as previous posters say: he has erratic performance at BOTH WR and TE positions ….. ummh ….No.
If that interesting, wait til he is a FA. We have so many unprovens , let them fight it out some. Come back at him next year.

Pitts is not a better receiver than Diggs, and I seriously doubt he will be better than Williams. He’s been a disappointment, I would offer a 5th for him.

When he was drafted, he was 245 lbs (he's now listed at 250). And he ran a ridiculous 40 time. I looked at him as having the potential of being a 6'6 245 lb version of the 6'5 240 lb Calvin Johnson as his ceiling. I also believed Atlanta should have designated him as, and used him as a WR since the day he was drafted. I would only trade for him if he agrees to a 1 year extension (so that we have more than just the last year of his Rookie Contract to see if he's worth keeping long-term). And, we designate him as a WR, and use him primarily as a WR.

I'd designate him as a WR and primarily play him as such. I looked at his ceiling when he was drafted as a 6'6 245 lb version of the 6'5 240 lb Calvin Johnson. He's at 250 lbs now, but could easily get down to 245.

He is a red zone liability.


That’s in 61 games.
Mr Unstoppable averages less than a catch every 4 games 1.4 yards per game and a TD every 10 games in the red zone.

I would think that the Titans might be a better trade partner, giving up Levis.
