What impact do you think the Tavai injury will have?
Eric KendricksSo is CJ Moseley assuming he's healthy
The entire team was bad doesn’t make one of those bad players good.
It’s really a lame excuse.
I have said hopefully he improves, we are in the same page there, but I just totally disagree that he wasn’t terrible last year or that he improved.
I’m just not the guy who makes the argument that if you can find one guy who improved that’s proof that a different guy will. 100s times more guys with Ellis’ background and resume on the field remained bad than suddenly broke out.
@captain stone ... don't have to listen to me.. listen to his coach.I like Tavai and think he's a good veteran player, that can provide solid depth at LB and he was starting next to spillane. That is telling how valuable Vrabel thinks he is.
Can't argue with that. I'm gonna put that in my signature...Mike Vrabel Weighs In On Patriots' Re-Signing Of Christian Elliss
The New England Patriots retained restricted free agent Christian Elliss on a two-year extension in March. But an offer sheet from the Las Vegas Raiders set a deadline.www.forbes.com
The Captain and Coach Vrabel said nearly the same thing. Based on last year's performance, Ellis did not earn the contract he signed, but he is ascending and everyone hopes Elliss continues to ascend and earns his contact through continued improvements. The Captain, and I, are sceptical. Vrabel said it was a difficult decision so there is risk in the signing. We will see if Ellis ascends further and earns his contract or not.@captain stone ... don't have to listen to me.. listen to his coach.

Your missing the whole point one.. it had nothing to do with what the captain or your saying. It was in reference to what ring 6 was saying. Look people can say whatever they want.. if he wasn't in the teams plans then he wouldn't have been matched. Did you miss the details Vrabel said. ?The Captain and Coach Vrabel said nearly the same thing. I am not sure what "listen to his coach" means. Vrabel said "it was a difficult decision" and "that his arrow is up". That means we over paid based on last year's performance but Vrabel hopes Elliss continues to "ascend" and earns his money.
He's on and NFL roster and even had interest from other teams.. he'll be in the rotation and will have a chance like everyone else in camp... never thought id be spending so much time on EllisWhat's he gonna do, call him a bum?
Don't get me wrong, he's a damn sight better than the Sloppy Jalopy, of whom I surely hope we've seen the last... But there are dudes still on the street that are >> the Both of them.
Zuma you always bring the voice of reason.. captain wants everyone cut... actions speak louder than words... the team matched his offer to keep himCan't argue with that. I'm gonna put that in my signature...
“We’re excited to have him. This is a player that the more he played, I think the better that he got. He was very good on third down and fourth down. And then first and second down, the more he played, the better he got on first and second down.”
“And this was a difficult decision,” Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel told reporters during Monday’s AFC coaches breakfast at the annual NFL meetings in Florida. “It was one that we ultimately decided that a young, ascending player that has his skillset and speed, we feel like he can do a lot of different things for us and that his arrow is up.”
I don’t get the Ellis criticism here, he played well on a bad team last year. He’s coming off his rookie contract. Mike Vrabel didn’t start a single game his first four years in the NFL. He turned out pretty good. Can't argue with that. I'm gonna put that in my signature...

What do you expect him to say? If we are really going to evaluate players by searching the internet for coaches saying nice things let’s just call everyone a hall of famer and give up on evaluating playersMike Vrabel Weighs In On Patriots' Re-Signing Of Christian Elliss

It's what his coach said. Not my words. What do you expect him to say? If we are really going to evaluate players by searching the internet for coaches saying nice things let’s just call everyone a hall of famer and give up on evaluating players
Zack baun was STs player, he came into a great situation, wasn't even guaranteed a job, he worked hard and got better. Guy ends up being an all pro. Exactly correct on vrabel 3rd rounder, had great players ahead of him so playing time was scarce in Pittsburgh. Teddy bruschi 5th rounder who started on on STs.. bussed his ass and got better under coaching.. fred warner.. a 5th rounder... who turned out to become and all pro..I don’t get the Ellis criticism here, he played well on a bad team last year. He’s coming off his rookie contract. Mike Vrabel didn’t start a single game his first four years in the NFL. He turned out pretty good.
You wrote "@captain stone ... Don't have to listen to me". If you were talking to ring 6, I would expect you to write, "@Ring 6 ..... Don't have to listen to me". But that is just me. When I talk to Pete, I don't start my comment by saying, Hey Harry.Your missing the whole point one.. it had nothing to do with what the captain or your saying. It was in reference to what ring 6 was saying.
I quoted Vrabel in multiple spots. You seem very confused having posted multiple responses. Maybe you get the different posters jumbled up.Did you miss the details Vrabel said?
Captain wants better quality across the board at every position...who doesn't. He's taking a stand and nothing will change his mind....EVER. Some others here on the other hand just have an inherent need to argue regardless of the subject and stance.Zuma you always bring the voice of reason.. captain wants everyone cut... actions speak louder than words... the team matched his offer to keep him
That says they like him.
It's all good..Okay.. water under the bridge.... the listen to me part was from my post with ring 6.. anyways.. if he turns out to become a great player then it's another great power move by Vrabel... just my opinions .You wrote "@captain stone ... Yes and they know who they are.. .. I appreciate you Zuma you always tend to be an informed poster and you always are the voice of reason.Captain wants better quality across the board at every position...who doesn't. Your right to be optimistic. The team is going in the right direction and it's more enjoyable to follow the team that way then through anger.
There's a lot of things he could have said or not said. Instead he said what he did and to just shrug it off like it was the only option is not fair to either of them. What do you expect him to say? If we are really going to evaluate players by searching the internet for coaches saying nice things let’s just call everyone a hall of famer and give up on evaluating players
