The Buffalo Bills are a team in the American Football Conference (AFC) of the National Football League (NFL). Specifically, they compete in the AFC East division. The Bills have won the AFC East division title multiple times, including five consecutive titles from 2020 to 2024. So slow down Allen and win the 4th quarter with clutch plays.. Right?

I'm a big believer in ball control and time of possession. When our offense has the ball....their offense doesn't. Dink and dunk and run the ball. I don't think we will win many shoout-outs in 2025. I think that is a good formula for a young QB.

Those both sound good
Alternatively perhaps a bus crash...

I think we have everything we need to be able to do it. Put in the work and anything's possible. Let's get a big year 2 jump from Maye and a DL that creates as much havoc as it can and bring them all on.

We need a significant step forward by drake maye... no more stupid ints and putting the ball on the ground... really think having josh here will help him take that step forward... better designed plays and play calling is the path to success for maye

And failing that then the bus crash? Or are we going straight to the nuclear option?

We need Maye to make a 2nd year leap and show he is moving toward being the QB many feel he could be.

That’s an old school approach, but not as effective in this era.

You need to put up points and to put up points you need chunk plays.

I think that will be the biggest improve moment in this team from just year to 2025 for many reasons.

The coaching staff is much improved. We ran an offense last year whose primary goal was not to **** up, which they failed at a lot.

This year we will be about matchups, and getting playmakers in a position to make plays.

The OL will be much better. Stevenson has always been a guy who can pop 15+ yards runs frequently if he gets a hole. Henderson is a big play threat.

In the passing game better OL play gives us a better chance at chunk plays. Maye has the arm and mobility to attack the whole field.
Diggs and Williams are big play threats and this unit should free up whoever is in the slot to get plenty of room to operate.

The key to offensive football in this era is making first downs on 1st and 2nd down, not staying in schedule and trying to convert 7 3rd downs in a drive.

I think we are going to pair this with a defense that will take risks (and you have to accept that means getting burned at times) to create drive killing plays.

I think we are going to see a very different approach than the BB/Brady years when we were mostly conservative, had the better team and let the other team make the killing mistake by pressing too hard to keep up with us, and are going to be a big play team.

I haven't looked into the Bills a ton, but i believe they are more or less as good this year as last year. So that being the case if we are to win the division, and not do it do to injury on their part; we do that by being better. Can the Patriots be better than the Bills? Yes they can.
The Patriots in actuality have an incredibly high ceiling. You could argue every team does, but that simply isn't the case.

The Bengals for example may or may not be better than the Patriots this year... we don't know. Their floor is higher, but their ceiling is lower. The Bengals you could argue (I wouldn't) are the better team because of this... but the Patriots unlike the Bengals have a chance to the super bowl this year. Yes, I said it. That is their ceiling. The Bengals with the current make up of their team, don't have this ceiling.

Just because i said the Pats have a chance, doesn't mean i think they will... they only have a chance if just about everything goes right and works out for them. That shouldn't happen. But it is a possibility. Just saying it to make a point. As for the Pats winning the division, assuming we don't just hope for an injury to Allen, which would be a low thing to root for. Here are the things that could happen to help the Pats surpass the Bills this year.

#1 Defense - It needs to stay healthy and work as intended. Barmore/Milton if healthy will cause havoc. White needs to maintain his play. . Chaisson/Swanson needs to be that scary good 3rd down player. And the depth behind them needs to be solid Spillane and Elliss/Gibbens play their roles. Particularly Spillane do as advertised. At DB Davis needs a good year and Gonzo just do his thing. Safety play should be competent and hopefully Dugger can have a big come back year. Our DBs can be really good. If this unit plays up to their potential they can be a top 3 Defense and help our offense out while doing it by turning the ball over. Simple enough.

On offense is a bit more involved.

#2 Maye makes that year 2 leap... particularly in consistency. We saw him be a bit more consistent near the end of last year. More of that. We need him to be a top 10 QB this year if we want to beat Buffalo. He can be that.

#3 Campbell be that day 1 LT we need. He doesn't need to dominate. Just be solid and competitive. Moses be Moses. Onwenu look like the 23' version. Center get worked out and the other guard spot be improved, even though it will probably be the weak point no matter what. In other words the OL needs to be close to average.

#4 Diggs look like a true #1. He has the potential to do so. To beat the Bills we need him to be so. As for the other pass catchers... We need Williams to basically get up to speed fast and be a very good #2 by years end. That is a must. If those things happen everything else should be gravvy as we have plenty of potential #4 options with Hunter being the true #3 at TE.

#5 Henderson needs to really have a good rookie year... not amazing as far as total production.. But he needs to make big plays . Also every other RB needs to do well. Particularly Henderson/Larison in pass catching... we need that part of the game to go well to help our OL.

All those things happen suddenly our offense is actually pretty legit and i think we can match up well with the Bills.

And failing that then the bus crash? Or are we going straight to the nuclear option?
I wouldn't be crushed if a blizzard wiped the red neck drunks off the map but I'd rather just get back to beating them.

Well yeah, sad miserable crying drunks are ofc preferable to dead frozen ones. Can only make em dead once, Brady showed we can keep them miserable for decades

Assuming Diggs is on the team and the recent acquisitions on both offense and defense do well, they are absolutely going to make Buffalo sweat. Their defense should match up well with Buffalo. Pats will run the ball better as well.

The Bills roster is atrocious and has been carried by Allen and Diggs for years. Cook is a nice player, but that’s really about it on offense. In fact, their GM got triggered and went off on local radio as people are saying the same thing they have nobody on offense. Defense is trash until proven otherwise. They are the Rodger’s 2015-2022 Packers where he would drag them into the playoffs, only to get overmatched by a better opponent.

If…
1) Diggs is indeed a productive top guy, which then more closely slots in our other 52 WRs into their spots better
2) OL proves to be a serviceable NFL not XFL OL
3) Stevenson holds onto the ball, Henderson stay healthy and plays to potential and Gibson stays his steady, productive self
4) Henry keeps on being himself
5) Defense wrecks peoples ****
6) Maye takes a step forward, which if he can look competent with what he had around him last year, I think he will

We might just be ok my friends.

Would prefer to see Henderson take Stevensons job...

How does a 5 time reigning division champ have an atrocious roster? Buffalo lacks high end stars outside its QB, but has a winning system and the role players to carry it out, kind of like many Patriots teams of the Brady era. They are a short list Super Bowl contender. I hate them, but credit where credit’s due.

Overtaking Buffalo isn’t an impossibility, but it would take this team reaching their ceiling - most of the FA signings and rookies need to pan out. The schedule works in out favor…win the games you’re supposed to win, steal one from Buf, hope they slip up against Baltimore and Philly, and you’re within striking distance.

More likely, we knock on that door in earnest in ‘26.

Yes, Maye has to become a top 10 qb. All rookies have to start and be productive. Keep Allen from running roughshot on us and our defense arises and gets em of the field. Big jump but it's the path for the Patriots. Beat Miami in Miami, beat Buffalo in Buffalo! Come on Vrabel, job includes studying and game plans now!
