Polk & Baker revival.

Perfectly put. And our defense was anything, but good last season. The chargers game was worse than the actual score. We see them again this season don't we?? If so gonzo will take him out the game and make Herbert check down.
No Chargers this year.

Call me wrong or stupid (and I dare say some will) But I think Polk and Baker are going to have a break out season in 2025. Better coaching, top QB, growing pains over. They were not dragged in off the street to play, both were very good collage players. But for what ever reason, they both really struggled to make the transition. But now things have changed and they have a chance to really show us how good they can be.

Let the abuse begin......
Let's see what they do in training camp first.

I'm not going to blame you for trying to be optimistic but to me they have proven a whole lot of nothing.

I wouldn't be surprised if Chism overtakes one or both of them on the depth chart based on the reports I've heard about how the new UDFA rookie wideout has looked really good so far.

If the bottom of your roster is bad enough, an UDFA can beat out one of your wide receivers.
My point is that your argument is based on a premise not borne out by facts: that drafting decisions are made by completely rational actors, so if a player goes undrafted, there must be a good reason why.

20% of all NFL rosters are comprised of UDFA. That's 1 in 5 players. This is not some new anomaly. People slip through the cracks of the NFL draft all the time and turn out to be serviceable to good NFL players.

Polk and Baker need to heed Cam's advice: learn to simply catch the damn ball. That'd cure a lot of woes right off the bat for these two specifically.

I didn't watch the video but I do think Polk puts enormous pressure on himself thinking about making explosive plays after the catch and he jinxes himself. He just needs to catch the damn ball and not worry about YAC's. Being a young Jakobi Meyers is OK in 2025 IMO.

Gunner Olszewski wasn't signed in the first round of UDFAs but still made the 53.

He made the team not as a WR, but as special teamer. If Chism can show his worth on special teams, he can make the 53 man roster. Odds are good he won't as just a WR.

You guys would have been screaming for Troy Brown's head on a platter for years.

One of the suckiest things about this league is the impatience at every level. I have no particular love or hate for Polk, I just don't feel ready to write him off after one year under a coach who couldn't even last longer than one season.

I genuinely think if Mayo wasn't the team's first player turned coach, first minority coach, and someone who had spent his entire career with the org that he's shown the door before the penultimate game.

Kraft has said this was the main issue, because it meant he didn't have the connections most coaches have.

I'm willing to give Chism more rope than Baker. Maybe even more rope than Polk.
I’m willing to give Baker more rope than Polk. Dude that was picked higher has higher expectations to meet, and is underperforming by more.

What a clueless ****ing piece of ****ing **** that clueless ****ing piece of ****ing **** is.

And ****ing FIRE the ****ing clueless ****ing piece of ****ing **** that drafted him.

To be fair Troy Brown was an 8th round pick. We don't even have 8 rounds anymore. He was primarily a special teamer until he caught on and broke out at receiver. Expectations were low.

Polk is a 2nd round pick and Baker is a 4th rounder. We were expecting to see more from both.

Chism meanwhile is a UDFA and a lot of us expect him to outperform Polk and Baker in camp. What does that tell you?
