I’m not going to worry about his turnovers in practice period. Their offense is going to be completely overmatched against their defense, and he’s trying to ingest a completely new, and far more difficult offensive scheme. I don’t give one sweet **** what assholes like Felger say, I’ll judge Maye based upon his performance against their opponents this year, not when he’s throwing to a receiving corps that is clearly overmatched in practice.

It’s funny (actually more like sad) that you don’t see them saying much praise when he does better. It’s only the negatives they seem to want to talk about…

Diggs is our new #1 and I'm glad he's showing why in camps.

I'm also excited to see what Efton Chism brings to the table. I've been hearing lots of good things about this UDFA receiver.

Chism came from the same college program that produced Cooper Kupp and Kendrick Bourne.

Me too! This is what we've been lacking since Edelman a true #1.. everyone else benefits.. pop will have more open lanes, rham, gibby and Henderson will have bigger holes to run through, Kyle Williams will have single coverage.. Diggs supreme route running abilities give him a step on any CB.

That’s because they are a bunch of assholes who believe their job is to piss the fans off and get clicks. It’s the same thing as news in general, no one tunes in if the story is “ man crosses road successfully.” I stopped reading Boston newspapers about 15 years ago, and listening to sports radio shortly after that, and I have never missed any of it at all. And the shame of it for them ( media) is that most of them got into it because they loved sports, only to make their professional lives about being as miserable as they can possibly be. All I can say is this-sucks to be them.

PBP,

With no other sports reporting going on worth discussing locally. Talking heads have to find something to conjure up.. .. OTA practice in shorts and t-shirts is suddenly the talk of the town in Boston sports talk.

If Maye went 40-40 with 8 touchdowns in a pre-season game Felger would say “ who cares, it’s a
garbage preseason game against a bunch of scrubs.” If he throws interceptions in a shorts and T shirts walk through it’s “ this kid was a bad pick, they need to get Flacco in here ASAP.”

Due to a number of favorable factors.. this season sets up well for them. Upgrade at basically the entire coaching staff, skill positions, defense of course and I don't want to say easy But it seems like they wont have such a daunting schedule. I feel like with all the positive factors they could be a double digit win team. Mayo i like the person.. he just was in over his head as a HC.
Going by last season's power rankings, the Pats have the easiest schedule in the AFC and maybe in all of football.

Pharms, Tonga, to name a few are good depth guys on the line.
I agree with this. I do think double digits is possible given strength of schedule ultimately clear improvement can come in many forms that may not directly mean more than double last year's wins.
One factor we are not considering is the new system and familiarity by each unit within it. It's team wide this year. Sure that occurs to teams each year with the heavy turnover, there are usually holdovers that can ease the transition. This year it's the whole team. I dont want to predict how much of a factor it will be, but it will be one.

I think Giardi published some research that shows that not to be significant in predicting wins. Counter intuitive. But probably because bad teams end up with easier schedules.

Very True. Landry, spillane, gibbens, Davis(played for Williams in Detroit) while the other guys all played for Vrabel, and those guys will be heavily in the mix especially spillane and Landry.. the system is just a one-gap, however guys will be in different formations, same thing done under bill. still have to line up and play becuase all and all it's still football.

I bet they keep 6 especially with the injury history of a few of our guys
Locks: Diggs, Williams, Douglas

Boutte, Bourne, Hollins, Polk, Baker, Chism battle for 3 spots.

I personally could see spot 6 coming down to Chism’s ability at slot vs Hollins special teams capabilities. Depends on what they primarily want out of the 6th guy.

While i think he makes the team, Pop is not a lock.....a guy like Chism could very well make him expendable if he doesn't have a good camp
