Strange does not strike me as a player that would have entitlement feelings.
He comes across as smart enough to realize he has not come close to earning a $16m per year payday.
he seemingly is the type of person who understands he has to be healthy, impress the new staff to get onto the field, and help his team win games. if he can do that, he most likely would ear a multi year deal for more than $16m total.
but today? no where close

LT Campbell. Lowe
LG Strange, Sow
C Bradbury, Wilson
RG Onwenu, Robinson
RT Moses, Wallace
That’s a solid line. If Strange can play up to his abilities, that’s a solid line. The right side is where they probably run to begin the season, until Campbell and Strange can mesh. two large maulers on the right side.

I'm hoping the coaches leave them at one position all through the camps so they can get more familiar and better at there positions. Leave the starting 5 together and learn how to work as a unit....same for the 5 backups. It would be nice if some of those younger players can move to other positions but IMO it's better in 2025 if they just stay where they are and grow.

If Vrabel thought that Stange and Sow were so goo he would have brought in Schweitzer who has started at all the IOL positions, and is clearly capable of starting at LG.

MAYBE Strange or Sow will start, but Schweitzer is a lock at least as a backup at OG and as an emergency center.

Schweitzer was anything but reliable the past 3 years. he played in 4,6 and 7 games the past 3 seasons.
the past 5 seasons, he was with Washington for 3 and the Jets for 2. how does that make him one of Vrabels guys?
he is 31 years old. his body appears to be breaking down
he will cost $150k if cut
the team drafted Wilson who seemingly has some OC-OG versatility.
how does that have Schweitzer as a "lock"?

Schweitzer is Vrabel's guy because he is a veteran brought in by VRABEL help transition the OL inti the future.

Giovani Ricci was also brought in by Vrabes

Schweitzer could be cut tomorrow, and it wouldn't move my needle.

I think Sow may be a little more stout in the run game in a gap scheme.
No. Layden Robinson is a better smasher in the gap-run game. Dude is a RG only. Moving him to LG was a failed experiment.

Pretty much the same could be said of Sow at RG.
I'm not that high on Sow. I think he lacks the athleticism to be an everyday starter.
WTH. Let facts speak, please.

On paper Sow should be given a shot at LT.

Robinson is a RG. He needs to practice as a RG. Think he will be successful there. This will do one of two things.
1) Make Onwenu expendable
2) Make Onwenu up his game and revert to his previous playing abilities

Schweitzer was brought in by Vrabel. Vrabel has zero connections to Sow. Sow better show up early and often to make this roster at LG. Sow could also battle Robinson at RG as well.

Personally I see Schweitzer as the backup LG and Sow and Robinson fighting for backup RG. Wilson and Bradbury at C. Wallace at backup RT. Bryant could push Lowe as backup at LT. Now that’s assuming they keep 10 OL.

cmon, folks here would rather have Brown as the emergency backup at all three IOL spots.

There is one way I could see Schweitzer being cut. Sow could look good enough to be our starter at LG AND the team decided to keep Strange as a backup at all the IOL spots.

Cole Strange seems like TC Trade candidate... we might get a vaunted Fifth Rounder for him; talk about value.
Yes, very likely. He’s an undersized, uber athletic outside zone blocker. All the other guys, with the exception of veteran center Bradbury, who may not make the 53, are much more suited to the inside zone and gap schemes.

Strange, unless he transitions to center, is a square peg trying to fit in a round hole.

I am not sure what you mean by athleticism. Sow's RAS score after the combine was a 9.72 which is very high, some might say exceptional. Sow tests very high on raw physical athletic traits.

He definitely fits the profile for the criteria Vrabel’s team is using to identify players they want.

I think we can argue a lot about who has earned what, fair treatment of injury situations, etc.

I don't think it's much of an argument around someone being pissed off about having $16M that was coming their way being taken off the table.

But indeed how they handle it matters a lot. If they act entitled and they sulk, they get sent packing sooner rather than later. If they bear down, work through the recovery plan and become an asset, they will get offers from us and from others. If they can't recover, sadly, that's the end of their time in the NFL.

Overall, since we yanked the $16M, our team feels it's probably not going to be a full recovery and on to the next contract.

It’s an option, it’s not due for anyone. They didn’t “ yank” anything, they chose not to pick up the option, those are very different things. I actually like Strange and hope he has a great year and they re-sign him, but they don’t owe him anything. He was clearly overdrafted and has already earned more than he would have had the Patriots not expended a first round pick on him.

Will Campbell’s lack of upper body length, his wingspan is utterly bottom of the barrel, which doesn’t describe his narrow chest, means any slowing of his elite athleticism makes him extremely unlikely to perform his LT duties adequately. Like gimby with an ankle injury for example.

Move him to guard if that happens.

LT Campbell, Lowe (Don’t dismiss him)
LG Sow, Schweitzer
C Wilson, Bradbury
RG Robinson (I’m high in him), Schweitzer

I think Strange gets traded and Onwenu shows up overweight and out of shape to TC and gets cut. Strange was drafted when the team under Patricia wanted to emphasize outside zone runs. Strange can still excel at this.

But the other players are more gap or inside zone. Jake Andrews is the unknown. Kind of a wildcard.

Very good chance the team picks up a late cut player.

Nine players.

Jake Andrews in not on the team anymore.

Robinson was awful in pass blitz pickup. Moves straight forward well, does not shuffle well so he misses blitzers. Not sure if he will make it or not.

Strange will start at LG unless traded like you predict. Strange is "not bad". I doubt they sign Strange in 2026 FA unless he really excels this year.

Sow is an enigma, strong athletic guy that fits the perfect OG profile, but he disappeared last year. Was he injured and it was not disclosed?

Next year I would guess that Strange and Onwenu are gone. We need two new guards. If it is not Sow or Robinson, possibly Wallace is the RG and Campbell is the LG (as you suggest). Then we are short tackles again.

This OL will be much better than last year, but is still in full flux mode.

Lowe is atrocious. I absolutely dismiss him. I don’t believe he will make the 53.

He’s 21, why would he suddenly lose his elite athleticism? Car accident? Fall down the stairs?
