When this news story first broke, I assumed that the “kid” in question was maybe in middle school. It turns out he’s actually a 21-year-old man, and I’m little puzzled that he’s still being treated like a child.
Most 21 year olds act like they are in middle school.

Sanders will probably never start as many games as jones has.

He may not see an active roster, ever.
Entirely possible.

Well, look at it this way....if you were interviewing for the job of your dreams which was going to pay 10X over your previous job, someone called and said you got it only to learn you were punk'd, i'm betting you would be furious.
If I was already a multi millionaire and I learned I was going to JUST make a few more millions, maybe I wouldn't care. I would def find it dumb. But, life sucks... he didn't lose anything other than a bit of pride.

BTW : he still gets to pursue the job of his dreams...

Calling a 21-year-old male a "man" in this day and age is a bit of a stretch. He's an immature college kid. People in general are maturing late these days, largely because social media limits interaction with others in real-life situations/activities.

So what. My God we have become so soft on this culture that we are freaking out because someone played a joke. The 11 seconds that he believed he was being drafted is much less challenging than what many people deal with every day.
Boo hoo, the guy who built a draft room, and acted like he was better than following the process, got punked.

I can definitely believe that most 21 year olds aren’t up to some of the responsibilities they’re technically old enough for, like adopting children or joining the police force (or even playing in the NFL). But as a parent with kids around that age, I have to say “knowing better than to steal confidential personnel information from a relative’s work computer and use it to stage a high profile public prank” is a verrrry low bar!

Of course I can't say for sure what would posses a 21 year old to do something this cruel and stupid but if I were to guess, it might be that he has led a spoiled sheltered life with a warped sense of reality. I also think you are spot on the limitations of social media interaction. People are used to saying anything they want to on social media - especially saying things with no penalty that would have got them a severe ass kicking in person prior to the "media invention".

In thinking back when I was 21 years old, I know I was immature due to a lack of life experiences. However by that time, I had already served 3 years in the military and was responsible for a crew of three hoping that nothing would happen on my shift where we would have pull someone out of a burning aircraft.

I also did some reckless things back then but come on mannnnnn!

**** move no doubt, but this is the most overblown story this season thus far...

I think it's very much an individual thing. See it in our players. Some guys are young men by the time they are seniors, and some guys are very much children still.

In re: to Shadeur, I think he's been taught that he's entitled by his father, who successfully parlayed that his own entitlement, couple with legendary athleticism, into a successful, lucrative career. Shadeur is no where near his father's ability athletically, and has all of the bravado. IT doesn't work.

Do you really think the 21 year old thought he was “stealing personal confidential information”. I mean it’s just a phone number, it’s not like he found a report saying sanders had gonnerea and called the news station

I think it’s pretty stupid for a 21 year old, but why are we saying it’s a cruel move ? Like, he got pranked. He didn’t lose an arm, a parent, or his freedom.

While not reaching the level of Tyreek Hill, I’ll be rooting against Shedeur. I hope he’s embarrassed & exits the league unceremoniously.
He screwed around with Shedeour's emotions and that's not right.

The dumb thing was posting a video of the prank on social media. Idiot.

Guys... I really think he'll be ok.

I am fairly certain these pranks go on all the time during the draft. The fact he was Deion’s kid is probably one of the reasons such a stink was made of it. Do you think as much of a big deal would’ve been made if he was pranked then went in the first? Or did his “slide” make the prank more of a kick in the balls? Self inflicted as the slide was purportedly.,.. Either way, the Falcons better up their data security. Thumbprint or some form of biometrics to access personal info would be a start….wait a sec…doesn’t the NFL use MS Surfaces and not iPads? If so why was his info on a personal device? Hmmmm…it’s really not that hard to lockdown data in this day and age. Its the human factor that always screws up.

Also….Ulbrich’s kid that did this is 21. Almost certain this would be a huge red flag if he was thinking about working in the NFL so he’s screwed in that way.

The Ulbrich dad had numbers stolen off his computer by his son. It seems stupid and wrong for the NFL to fine the Falcons and fine the dad $100,000 for something the son (another adult) actually did.

Cooper DeJean got prank called during the draft last year. And everyone laughed about it.

The only reason this one is getting this reaction is because Shedeur fell to the 5th round and people are crying racism over him not being picked much earlier. With the NFL being woke, the Falcons DC coach is just going to draw all the wrath and bearing the brunt of all the disappointment and racism accusations with this prank call. Because nobody thought much about the prank calls until the circumstances of this one.

Honestly feel a little bad for the father here. His apology came across as very sincere and it was a mistake for SS’s # to be available.

The son is a little twerp. An adult who cost his father 100k and got him into how water with his employer.

Not the dads fault. I'm sure he didn't think having his family (his son) around him would result in this.
