Great point. The Noel/Williams comparison is one we'll have to keep an eye on. I can't imagine it will be as stark as LMC/Polk.
Agreed, the speed and the ability to separate is as good as Noel’s, so not as worried as much about the comparison as LMC/Polk. After doing some research, I get why they drafted Williams over Noel, Williams spent 75% of his playing time as an outside receiver as opposed to Noel who I believe spent a majority of his time in the slot (70%).

I loved watching Williams at Senior Bowl practice, his 1 on 1 drills, he embarrassed some DBs.

I'm calling it.

Week 1 Roster:
Douglas
Boutte
Diggs (PUP or whatever it's called now)
Williams
Hollins
Polk
I agree. I like Boutte but I believe the rumors about the Pats wanting to trade Boutte. Seems like a similar situation to Milton. We drafted 11 players and signed 16 UDFAs. That is 27 rookies, LOL. There is going to be a lot of turnover.

I really like the pick. But I have questions about why Williams over Noel ? Almost everyone had Noel rated higher than Williams. And it seems the Pats did a lot of visiting with Noel. I just hope it doesn’t become another McConkey/Polk situation where they wind up with the lesser player.

Luckily Williams has great speed and can get separation.
Maybe the many visits with Noel gave the Pats reason to select Williams instead?

Diggs won't be on PUP he's well ahead of schedule.

With his abilities after the catch, to beat press and win on the short routes, Kyle Williams will be a first down machine. I don’t want to set expectations too high for his rookie year so I’m looking further ahead than that.

From a Jete perspective but good all 22 breakdown of Williams

Two particular things I've noticed about Kyle.

1. He plays at a different speed to the DBs. When Kyle has the ball in hand, it looks like the DBs are in slow motion compared to him.

2. The one concerning thing I've seen. He never uses his hands to beat press, just his quick feet. I can see big athletic physical corners giving him some problems by getting into his body. They'll need to be quick though. Gonzo and Carlton Davis will be good dress rehearsals for him.

That was commented about on 1 of the draft profiles I watched.
They did, however, look at it as a possible positive in that if he can be coached to use his hands his release will be even better. With someone like Diggs to learn from that might actually be a way for him to improve.
They also mentioned that he wasn't really used as a true WR until he got to Washington, was used more as a running/gadget guy so despite 5 years of college ball he is still learning things. They particularly mentioned that he improved on many things his last year and the reason they rated him so highly was because he showed he can learn and get better.

So, hoping, with his work ethic and ability to get better, that he can learn hand usage at the line and become even better at separation. If not, then Josh will need to scheme him open before the snap against certain DB's.

Dane Brugler points to Drake Maye’s relationship with Josh Downs at NC as a possible benchmark to how he and Kyle Williams will relate. Downs had an 81% success rate against man coverage so pretty close but he’s also shorter and slower.
