Most of us have Roy making the 53.

Many have Johnson making the 53.

This would certainly be true if Barmore isn't really ready.
==========

Milton
Pharms
Farmer
Roy
White (if Barmore is unable to play)

Imo we are good at IDL

If Barmore is good to go which feels like the expectation based interviews/reports this offseason I think we will be okay but I do expect more depth and a better nose tackle (tonga upgrade) to be a priority in the draft next year.

I expect the depth chart to look like:
Barmore
Williams
Farmer
Pharms
Tonga (goal line/run specialist)

Plus White occasionally lining up inside on pass rushing downs

They need an edge. How about a trade with Giants for Thibodeaux

Eric Johnson at 320 lbs is a legit backup to Tonga.

Roy was playing well prior to his injury. He certainly outplayed Pharms.

I've seen too many people doing their rosters based on their idea of the Defense and not what Vrabel has outright stated.

In the Vrabel 4-3, you have a DE, a NT, and a DT. The other DE is closer to Willie McGinest "Elephant" position. Not a true DE in size, but over-sized to be an OLB..

The LBs are Will, Mike, Sam. Will and Sam are OLBs..

I've yet to see anyone address the above.

Agree but pharms is 5th, and Tonga probably 3. Top 4 will play.

I fully expect Barmore to be ready to go..... back on IR within a month. I don't think this is something that will safely go away.
Ok thanks Doctor

Nickel is the base. It’s not 4-3 it’s 4-2
Oh and Eric Johnson sucks and won’t be close to making the team.

Roy, prior to injury, showed surprising rush ability imo.
2 sacks. 3 TFL. 2 QB hits.
I think if he is healthy he has a good shot at the roster spot.

That seems right to me.

Like others have said Roy played pretty well before he got hurt.

As long as Barmore is playing I think DL is probably our best position. Maybe Corner but that's more Gonzo than the whole group.

Milton, White, and Barmore are going to create problems. Are we a little short on edge guys? Yes. Are we a little short on run stuffing fatties? Again probably yes but let's see Tonga.

Tonga and Landry should be able to fill their roles just based on how good the top trio is because it means no one else is being asked to do more than they can handle.

Lastly and also least since we didn't invest a lot but hopefully some of the rookies we got can help fill these depth spots too.

most likely, even if everyone is healthy, playing 50-60% on the snaps will keep Williams, Barmore and White playing at their peak.
they will need players behind them. can Farmer, Roy, Pharms, Tonga step up?

Pharms, Roy, Tonga, I'd say are rotational depth guys... to your point if Barmore is out then of course this changes. Hopefully he continues his upwards trending.. I have White, Williams, Barmore and Farmer as the starters.. Barmore and white can stand up or, hand in the dirt to rush.

I was a Pharms supporter as a rookie, but I think he has peaked. I would be happy to be proven wrong.

Good rotational guy... need to have depth.. we learned a hard lesson last season.

He’s not a legit rotation guy. Hes the kind of guy who grabs a spot in a team that is weak at his position or has injuries and whenever he plays you wish he wasn’t. I also would be happy to be proven wrong.
