DRAFT DAY DISCUSSION Official 2025 Draft Day Thread: Day Three

Maybe the Patriots aren't looking for a depth EDGE. Their draft contacts at that position were all potential starters. I think Jah Joyner was their only pre-draft contact with a day three edge rusher.

Sawyer was a good pick

They won’t take sanders
yeah normally I’d agree but take the best QB available when ready, if Sanders is the best on the board, why not? I don’t even like the player but if it makes sense it makes sense. Remember the guy isn’t coming in as a high pick so it’s not like they’re drafting him to compete with Drake. Could also take Ewers.

We have a couple of seventh round picks too. It would actually be crazy if they didn't take him with one of them at that point

5th is a little too high though, still need edge, still need te.
Not gonna be sanders though. Vrabel would want nothing to do with that attitude.

Surprised GB didnt take Jalen Royals to fill out their small wr room

Why was this guy at the draft? Lol

I'm thinking the attitude might be different as a 7th round pick, getting Josh Dobbs' coffee.

He was in my top 100. Value pick.

Did you seriously "I saw a 5th round grade this one place on a guy we took in the 4th, reach?"

There's still time to blame Bill belichick, if you wanted to edit btw.
I didn’t know much about the player so it was a legit question to the board.

I must really have Bill lovers shook lol. Truth hurts. One of the all time greats who also sucked ass at his job the last two years he was here, period.

Perhaps they see White as DE in a 4 man front, playing outside the T rather than a 3 man front playing in the T?
That gives you Landry and White on the edge with Chiasson and Jennings as backups and Tavai as a depth guy there too?

Not overestimating at all. People called it a reach. It was not
He was around 197 on the consensus board. The fact that a few people had a 3rd or 4th on him doesn't change the fact that most had him as 6th/7th round prospect.

That's not negative or mean or trying to tear anything or anyone down. It's ok to point it out and say "we could have got him later" or "he's a reach" that's OK to say during the draft my man. It's not negative or being a troll or w/e you want to call it. It's reality. Most had a late round grade, a few him closer to 100. It is what it is.

The worst thing it does is create a discussion about the guy. Which is in part why we're here.
