Not so much a thread for Friday night as much of a reassessment thread of where the team is and what's on the board.

The first thing is clearly OT is not a need. Even if Campbell eventually does move to guard (hope not) he is the best LT on this team already... I don't see how he can't be. So let's focus on other needs and what left.

First we have to talk about a certain CB falling to round 2. I didn't really look into Will Johnson much as I expected him to be gone long before this and while we could use another CB it isn't pressing. But wow that potential value is tempting.

For pick 38 guard seems very unlikely. The top guards are already gone, and I don't think anyone left is worth that pick. Some would disagree but I think any guard left we could get about as good a guy later in day 2.

The obvious thing is WR. There are certainly guys there I think we should look at. Burden though raw jumps out to me for his talent but many other players are around arguably worth this pick. That be my guy if we go this route (pun intended). But given what is left waiting till our early 3rd round pick may be the move that is max value if we hold.

Mike Green still being on the board is interesting . Help at DE would be nice. A modest trade up for him would not make me mad in the least. But even if he is gone there are other value pass rushers worth pick 38 imo.

The Pats can easily trade up and given what has fallen and should consider it strongly. While we have a lot of needs we have a lot of picks and I'd love to leave this draft with 2 top 20 players, which they can achieve very easily.

We only have one 2nd round pick.

We have two 3rd rounders.

I'd go for the best WR at #38 before a run on them starts and we don't have the choice of our favorite of the remaining prospects.

Of these I like Tre Harris, Kyle Williams, Jayden Higgins, or Jalen Royals.

I'm really wondering why Burden fell so far out of the 1st. Most likely he will be gone before our pick after teams restack for day 2.

I fixed that already. Saw it and like ... Woah math. 69 > 64.

We had the worst WR room in the league in 2024 and while Diggs has potential to elevate it - with his injury/age you HAVE to get Drake his guy to grow with.

If you wait until year 3, it's total malpractice for a young QB's development (Drake is younger than rookie Cam Ward).

Look at what Jacksonville just gave Lawrence - Travis Hunter and Brian Thomas Jr, then Caleb Williams has a ridiculous set of targets now in Chicago. If we had a Saquon at RB, or a Gronk at TE it wouldn't be so bad - but we don't have that either!

Get Higgins, Burden or Noel in R2 and don't look back. They all have degrees of WR1 upside.... The D will be fine picking up Jack Sawyer or similar in R3. Just no more WR2/WR3 ceiling type players.

Mike Green
Nic Scourton
TreVeyon Henderson *
Jaylin Noel
Jayden Higgins
Jack Bech
Quinshon Judkins
Donovon Ezeirruaku
Tre Harris
Aireontae Ersery

I’d be happy with any one of these names at 38. Especially Henderson.

Can’t believe Mike Green is still there. Thought he’d be gone by 15 or so. I’m assuming his damage control is not going very well and probably should of called Chris Carter. But seriously. 17.5 sacks last season. He’s a beast still on the table but with some serious question marks.

My WR rankings.

Burden
Harris
Higgins.

I think they are all good at that pick. I don't think I'd consider anyone else at 38. Some people like Higgins the most but he just doesn't pass the eye test for me like Burden and Tre do.

I think it will be Scourton if he is there. But I would be very happy with a trade up for one of noel, Higgins or bech.

Burden is a weapon with the ball in his hands but he can't run routes. There are also reports of him being a pretty obnoxious character and there are questions about his work ethic and desire to learn

Think day 2 will be a bit more exciting as to who we pick. Will just have to see how Campbell pans out, he certainly has the drive and want to be a patriot attitude based on his interviews.

With the run on Tackles we have to take one of the Trapilo - A Ersery - Charles Grant or Belton in the Second.

Day 2 Wish List, in no particular order:
TE Mason Taylor, LSU
WR Luther Burden, Missouri
EDGE Donovan Ezeiruaku, Boston College
RB TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State
C Drew Kendall, Boston College
EDGE Nic Scourton, Texas A&M
WR Jaylin Noel, Iowa State
WR Jayden Higgins, Iowa State
OT Ozzy Trapilo, Boston College
WR Tre Harris, Ole Miss
OT Aireontae Ersery, Minnesota

Day 2 wish list
Tre Harris
Ersery
Scourton
Trapilo
Josiah Stewart
Jared Wilson
Darius Alexander
I was just asking about Jared Wilson in the day 1 thread. Sticking on the OL might be the way to go. Unless we totally believe Strange at back up Center then maybe we should just take Wilson.

if strange is moved to C let's discuss Wyatt Milum at LG, he is a good pass pro

The CB from Michigan. Why is that guy still available ? There was buzz. If he ends up being a star, teams will regret passing on him. And if he’s as good as some suggested before the draft, I’d love to see NE grab him early tonight.
