Cowboys want Tet or Golden

Did something change? I would think that the Cowboys are desperate for a RB ...i.e. maybe they can work out a deal with the Patriots for Jeanty.

This just in!

Shadeur Sanders confirms that not only will he not be attending the draft, he’s now DOUBLE not attending the draft!

So we can put you in the he's condemned before he evens takes the field camp, eh?

You can put me in the trade the pick camp more than anything.

I know oline has been a ****ing disaster here for a while and it needs to be addressed but I am still a firm believer that you can build a oline without spending high draft capitol on it.

I don't believe they're going to do it though. Nothing makes sense about drafting a guard who's arms are too short and moving him to LT. They're setting him up for failure.

Really hope we Trade Down at the very least we'll have a shot at LT Josh Simmons. Plus we can double dip for another Tackle with Starting Upside.
I admit I don't know much about Josh Simmons other than the potential character issues, the Torn Patella injury, and questions about when he will be ready to get on the field. '

Why are you so high on him? Was he that dominant when he was healthy? Are his RAS scores off the chart? Was the the top rated LT in college prior to the injury.

Are you aware that (according to a clip we saw here) even partial patella tears cause permanent loss of athletic performance?

So what is it that makes you hope that it is Simmons we come away with tonight, over say, Banks, Membou, Campbell, or even the Minnesota kid.

You can only take what is available ..

Jeanty is probably the best remaining fit. But it does not make any sense for pats.

Campbell might not be top 4 material but he is top 7 in this draft and it's a position we need . We can only draft the available players. Just draft him at 4 unless bears offers us this year's second and next year's second to move from 10 to 4.
I disagree with you that Jeanty “does not make any sense”. Pairing a potential All-Pro RB who can run and catch with a potential All-Pro QB is appealing.

But the team is far too nervous about missing on a tackle again. They are going to draft for need even if the player is really a guard in the pros.

That's the dumbest flippin' take ever. The guy is still in the discussion of the best offensive lineman of all time. It's not his fault they couldn't keep a winning team around him long enough to get a ring.
The dude is comparing Campbell to John Hannah, which was an extremely dumb take.

I was using hyperbole to point out how dumb it was

It's said Josh Simmons well ahead of schedule and should be ready for the season opener. Minus the injury we would be talking about him instead of Will Campbell. That said my favorite Tackle is A Membou.

I actually can definitely see this. Raiders and Jaguars both want Jeanty. Raiders may just flip a 3rd rounder to jump up 2 slots.

A perfect storm would be if the Giants take Dart at #3, which drops Carter to #4. Now you will have the Raiders and Jags wanting Jeanty but also other teams possibly interested in jumping up to #4 for Carter. So, you may get a better offer than you'd expect.
Would the Raiders give us Kolton Miller to swap 1sts?

Bears trading up to No. 5 for Ashton Jeanty heats up in betting markets
Betting markets have the Bears coming up to 5 for Jeanty. I heard the rumor the Pats are considering taking Jeanty or the Cowboys are calling about pick 4 to do it. Someone tell Chicago. I will not confirm or deny that I made up the rumor, but that is what media does so its ok if I did or didn't.

Disappointing to hear that Kiper and Yates believe the first 4 picks are set, from what they've heard.

Ward, Hunter, Carter, Campbell.

1.) Expect there to be 6 LTs taken before #38, so clearly teams view the position as a premium position.
2.) The OL sucks because they've tried to build it without spending premium picks on it. How's that working?
3.) The kid has played over 2500 snaps, over a career as a 3 year starter, where he's received accolades like consensus All-American, as a left tackle. Not sure where your getting him as a guard moving to LT. If anything, it's the other way around.

Giants taking Dart at #3 would be rich for the Shadeur Sanders Drops Show.
I said weeks, maybe months, ago a couple times on here that I would not be at all shocked to see Dart go in the top 3 ahead of Sanders. He fits the mold of what you're looking for in a QB prototype in 2025 better than Sanders, and has none of the daddy drama. Really would not surprise me much at all.

You're taking Carter if he's there.

We don't have enough talent to kick that kind of prospect down the road.

Unless someone comes in with 3 first round picks I'd say not happening.
I'd probably take Carter too, but the draft is deep at edge and if you could get, say, another 2nd rounder, 4th rounder, and a future 2nd to go down to, hypothetically, pick 11 with SF then I'd think about it. You'd then have two 2nds, two 3rds, two 4ths and two 5ths and you could move around to really flesh out your roster.

He's not a LT....

That's the point.
