Who is the most likely trade down partner?

I don’t think you can really make an honest assessment until the pieces start falling in front of the Patriots

The Patriots aren’t drafting a QB, Jacksonville isn’t drafting a QB so if Raiders are set on drafting a QB and nobody else is within touching distance then I’m not entirely sure you have a trade partner.

Who exactly is worth trading up for?
I I were 5-9, I might want to trade up for Jeanty, Graham, Warren, Campbell or Membou. Each team has its own evaluations and plans. The issue is compensation. Surely, one of these is worth a 3rd to trade up, or even a second if the team if at 9.

The Saints at 9 are a possibility, but I think Chicago and San Francisco are the most likely candidates.

The only way someone wants to trade up is if both Carter and/or Hunter are still on the board.

SF has nothing to offer, so I'd eliminate them.

If Carter is available (he has some issues) then the Patriots should not have a problem trading down. Let's hope they can do better than the Milton trade. I don't want Carter; I want the draft haul.

If neither Carter or Hunter is available, all bets are off. What team in their right mind would trade up for someone like Campbell when they could get him if they sat tight.

Kansas City bears watching.

They are always in win now mode, but this season its to the 10th power with Kelece likely done after 2025.

RLKAG.

I think Chicago is the most likely to trade up, but still an incredible long shot.

I took the field. Besides the further we fall the more we get for it.

Personally I just want to stand pat and take BPA but if we're trading I want a 2026 1st and we're probably not getting that from 5-9.

I could see the Bears coach Ben Johnson wanting to move up to get Ashton Jeanty after signing veteran O-Linemen in free agency for fear he won’t make it to the 10th pick.

???
OK. I'm picking 8th. I have a guy a really like. Your strategy is to wait, because, FOR SURE, the player I want will be there at 8. After all, no one at 4, 5, 6, or 7 would possibility want the same player as I do.

I don't think there is. After Carter and Hunter, the next level of guys all have enough question marks that it's safer to let them fall to you than put your ass on the line by trading more resources to get one of them. We are just in the unfortunate position where we have our pick of that litter and want it to be worth something.

It works both ways right, if some of those guys are worth enough to trade up for, why are the Patriots passing on picking them? Especially if now we are saying we'd settle for a third for a trade that traditionally would merit much more. It gives the game away.

Allegedly…or smokescreen season..

That’s been my thinking as well, but Hampton has moved so far up boards that the Bears could just stand pat and take him at 10.

I don't expect a trade down but a small one with the Raiders to 6 seems possible if they want Jeanty. We could probably get Campbell at 6 so I would take as little as a 4th. It could be worth it for the Raiders as a team like the Bears could trade up to 4 or 5 for Jeanty. Or the Jaguars could take him, they could use him.

6 is as low as I would go cheap. Any lower and I would want full value.

Kansas City bears watching.
It'd be nearly impossible for them to make a package NE would accept, since 4 to 31 is the equivalent of a pick around this year's #14 (exact value depending on chart).

3 to 6 (granted, for QB Sam Darnold) in 2018 cost two seconds that year and another the year after.

Obviously they're not going to get that, but I'd want something like swapping the Pats' third for their second this year and next (equivalent of two late 2s).

Perhaps they include a player or a 2026 pick.

They really need to fix the OL and get winning because AFCW opponents are gaining strength. Denver is already dangerous and LAC is a good 2025 draft away from serious contention. Brady and the Raiders ( Crazy to even utter those foul words.) They are nothing to be concerned over.

Everybody watched what the Eagles defense did to KC and 2025 defenses will be wise to emulate those same schemes in 2025.

I put other for none. It's not happening
