DRAFT NFL Draft Talk

The common theme with most of those guys is that they all held onto the ball to long as prospects. In Sanders defense the OL was terrible, but he is not good in the quick passing game. He might learn it in the NFL but that seems a huge gamble and I really cannot see a team taking that gamble in the top 10.

Jeanty at 20? I think not.
And lots of tackles off the board - Campbell(6), Membou(13), SImmons (16) and Banks (24). Speaks to what happens if we skip a LT at four.
Doesn't help that Ramczyk of the Saints just retired. That means the Saints are in need of a RT now. Wouldn't be surprised if they targeted Membou.

It doesn’t help, but he didn’t play last year and this probably isn’t a surprise to them.

Regardless, I think an early OT is important.

My friend a Giants fan is terrified he’s seeing Sanders at 3 everywhere today.
Hope that comes true.

Sanders won’t go in the top 10. Carter and Hunter will be gone by 3. Patriots will take Campbell. No need to overthink it all.

Allegedly…

Id be happy with that but, as someone mentioned, isn’t his dead cap hit prohibitive to any trade on Philly end?

Sure, we could pick the top WR on our board at 38, or near 38 with a trade up or down. That strategy worked so well last tear.

As was the case last year, there may be several defensive players who are the BPA. Of course, we don't have any need for an EDGE player or a DL, so perhaps we will again exclude those positions and draft a WR. Don't get me wrong, there will be many good prospects at WR available.

There are misses every year. If you let a previous miss dictate your current actions you won’t be able to draft anyone.

I would do it.

The Patriots have the draft capital to move up from 32 and still get a tackle. Now your starting WR’s are AJ Brown and Stefon Diggs.
Since it’s even in discussion I been sure the Patriots have been in constant communication involving AJ Brown.

I wonder if we draft another WR as well and cut or trade Baker, Polk, Bourne.

If this happened and we also traded for Kolton Miller, we are playoff bound.

Now Giants are def taking Carter, it’s that or watch him in Green the next 8 years, Joe Schoen should just retire.

I would definitely be on the phone to them since they could want Campbell.
While there are a decent number of LTs in the draft, I don't think the Pats can afford to wait until the 2nd round at pick 38 to add one. I think they need to trade back, add picks and then add their OT with whatever they got from the trade down. Then they need to add a 2nd one to put pressure on Lowe and Jacobs. Jacobs can, almost assuredly, be cut and added to the Practice Squad at cut downs.

It’s always hard to gauge the veracity of the reports, but it sure would be a good thing for the Patriots.
