Vrable's draft record

Not having final say on the roster was a bone of contention for Vrabel in TN almost from the jump. Ownership going past Vrabel's boy Cowden for since fired GM Ran Carthon proved the final straw. That's reason one that regardless of the titles, niceties and phrasing you can rest assured Vrabel has the last word here.
And when the draft press conference happened, who showed up? Vrabel. Regardless of titles and niceties, the guy is charge shows up for the press conference.

I think Wolf had one too

Edit: I did a quick look and unless I missed it seems like he did it at the combine. But Last year it does appear he did one the week before.

Vrabel was against trading Brown.. Westbrook-ikenhe, Taylor Lewan, landry, Simmons.. I'd say we're also pretty good draft picks.
Lewan was drafted 4 years before Vrabel became their HC, also why is Westbrook-Ikhine on that list? What has he done in 5 years apart from never hitting 500 yards in a season?

Correct. I misspoke I was trying to elude that not all Tennessee draft picks were bust.. the players I mentioned really benefited from having vrables coaching. Westbrook-ikenhe is a talented guy.

Westbrook-Ikhine is talented insomuch that any football player who is good enough to make an NFL roster is talented. I wouldn’t mark him as an example of someone who benefit under Vrabel though. His 9-TD performance last season was flukey and to top it off it happened the one year he’s played without Vrabel. He hasn’t produced enough to be mentioned in the same sentence as guys like Simmons and Landry. Those are fine examples but Westbrook-Ikhine stood out like a sore thumb which is why I responded.

That part got me.

@Lansdowne

Unless Carter or Hunter fall to us we need to not mess around and take the OT.. we need our Taylor Lewan or Matt light..
Not a bad idea my good friend but there is more than one way to skin a cat. I’d prefer taking a guy who scores touchdowns at 4th overall (akin to what Scar suggests), signing DJ Humphries (who was a Pro Bowl LT before his ACL injury), and then taking a rookie LT either with the 38 (Ersery) or one of the third rounders (Trapilo). A trade for Kolton Miller is also a possibility. But I would not hate Campbell or Membou if that is the direction they go.

Huge fan of Membou here.

Well since you put it that way Lans... I like that approach too. I'm just looking at the past few seasons the OL has been problematic specially at OT.. throwing band aids.. Wheatley, Reiff, lowe to name a few. I would not be mad at them either for taking Campbell.

It's hard watching wolf speak publicly..

I'm all in on A Membou he reminds me of Bruce Armstrong: my Favorite all Time Patriots Tackle.
I like Membou too.. I also like Campbell.. he plays with a nasty physicality that the OL desperately needs..

Twin: A Membou plays more violent to me I like that in a Lineman.

Kolton Miller is 29 and would be a stop gap..

Bad drafting is undefeated in firing coaches and GM's. Vrabel's front office from 2020-2023 had brutal drafts. Jon Robinson started out hot, then traded AJ Brown for whatever reason. Ownership was clearly okay with it or else they would've blocked it. But of course, there needs to be a scapegoat when it backfires and let Robinson go after his 3rd straight bad draft from 2020-2022. Keeping Brown would've helped disguise those poor drafts.
