Surveillance state is spreading
spreading?

its been here for at least a decade... everything you do, everything you buy, every place you drive is tracked, cataloged, sold to the highest bidder and tucked away into a file somewhere some place...

@Wozzy
Just an FYI, the theme of the Terminator movie (even though you're referring to T2 as well) was stolen from Outer Limits episode The Soldier, so this goes way back to the '60's.
Also, even though the jab passports failed nationwide here they were still adopted in some places. It was definitely a power grab to see how far the people could be controlled and pushed before they pushed back. People need to talk to each other about these issues instead of listening to outsiders run by NGO groups and NWO. Looking at you Schwab, Rothchild, Soros....

Also: as been noted above about how Big Brother is Watching, e.g. 1984,

Yea, let's put resources into this instead of the roster, facilities, team plane, etc.

You can go back further to the Patriot Act. Goddamn you Kraft

Law Enforcement has been using facial recognition for at least the last 20 years. It was crappy when my agency/city started using it but like all technology it improves with time. It has some very good uses and like anything else can be abused. With regards to AI what concerns me most is the ability to take anyone's image and/or voice and put them into a video. Right now its still kind of janky but in time we will all be questioning what is real and whats not. I worry about court evidence and just general slander with bogus videos.

The whole Aaron Hernandez thing was eye-opening. The way they essentially laid out his timeline all by his phone, and also the number of times cameras captured him driving past. That was probably the first time I realized how many cameras there really are everywhere, which in that case, allowed them to secure the case against him.

The idea for Terminator was taken from a short story by PKD. Second Variety - Wikipedia

It's kinda funny how the people all up in arms about this invasion to their privacy still carry cell phones with them wherever they go....

It gives me all the knowledge, all the music, and porn too.

I don't call people that often with it though.

It also gives Apple - and many of the companies who produce various apps - everywhere you are, everything you said and everything you did.

Welp, if Kraft's paying for it, it will be the cheapest AI possible - so it will probably be on par with Gemini telling you to use glue to keep your cheese from sliding off your pizza.

It's a slow Friday...

This was created to make sure Jerod can be located very quickly if he tries to sneak back in.

People think that this is some new heightened AI that just started happening the last few years with ChatGPT and all that. Every single thing you do is tracked. Your phone GPS, your smart TV, your Alexa, your iPhone, your search history, your social media, satellite radio/emergency systems in your car, traffic cameras, airports, stadiums, CCTV, etc. Anyone with the money or resources has access to all of those things and can pinpoint everything about you and where you have been, and this has been going on for decades. The Patriot Act gave the government full authority to access all this with no real discretion, and since big tech is now running the country, there is no need to even pretend every inch of our lives isn't monitored.

Nothing for free. Worth it.

I agree. I have my with me all the time.

Just be careful if you ever decide to run over your police officer boyfriend and leave him to die in the cold snow on a blizzard night in Canton. Hypothetically.

Pot is legal I'm no longer a criminal. But back in the day I was doing a lot of crime.

Well that and he was a continuously stoned idiot

I'm as anti-Big Brother as anybody.

But I just went to Universal Studios brand new Epic theme park (pre-opening, friends & families of employees) a few days ago, and they used facial recognition there - and it worked great. Every time we went on a ride we needed to put personal belongings in a locker, and they used facial recognition to open and close the locker. It worked perfectly, and made everything easier and more efficient. The lockers had two doors, one on the way in, another on the way out. And there was no extra charge either. Worked like a charm. I didn't have any personal or financial information attached to it at all, alleviating any concerns.

Obviously there are legitimate privacy and hacking/security concerns, especially if it is going to be tied to a digital wallet/your credit or debit card. And there have been documented flaws with the software, especially for blacks, asians and women.

My thought process is to follow the money. If a company is going to spend so much money for this technology, they are going to want a return on their investment. There is no transparency; we don't know what they will do with that information. There would be too much temptation to sell all that info, and once it is out of their hands neither the person nor the team has control of it. No bueno.

I understand why they would want the benefit of making it quicker at the entry gate and concession stand. As long as it remains a strictly opt-in feature, I'm okay with it. But after a while I wonder if that will still be the case - no different than the demise of a physical ticket.
